Abstract
In one aspect, the present invention provides a method of treating breast cancer that is negative for ER, PR, and HER2, comprising administering to a subject at least one iodonitrobenzamide. In another aspect, the present invention provides a method of treating breast cancer comprising administering to a subject at least one iodonitrobenzamide in combination with at least one anti-tumor agent.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 121 . (canceled)
122 . A method of treating breast cancer that is negative for estrogen receptor (“ER”), progesterone receptor (“PR”), and human epidermal growth factor 2 receptor (“HER2”) in a patient, comprising administering to a patient having breast cancer that is negative for ER, PR and HER2 an effective amount of 4-iodo-3-nitrobenzamide, or a metabolite or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and irinotecan.
123 . The method of claim 122 , wherein the effective amount produces at least one therapeutic effect selected from the group consisting of reduction in size of a breast tumor, reduction in metastasis, complete remission, partial remission, stable disease, or a pathologic complete response.
124 . The method of claim 122 , wherein a comparable clinical benefit rate (CBR=CR (complete remission)+PR (partial remission)+SD (stable disease)≧6 months) is obtained as compared to treatment with said irinotecan administered without 4-iodo-3-nitrobenzamide.
125 . The method of claim 124 , wherein the improvement of clinical benefit rate is about 60% or higher.
126 . The method of claim 122 , wherein the breast cancer is at stage I, stage II, or stage III.
127 . The method of claim 122 , further comprising surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, gene therapy, DNA therapy, viral therapy, RNA therapy, adjuvant therapy, neoadjuvant therapy, immunotherapy, nanotherapy or a combination thereof.
128 . The method of claim 122 , further comprising administering to the patient gamma irradiation.
129 . The method of claim 122 , wherein said breast cancer is an infiltrating duct carcinoma.
130 . The method of claim 122 , wherein said breast cancer is metastatic.
131 . The method of claim 122 , wherein an effective amount of 4-iodo-3-nitrobenzamide or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof is administered/
132 . The method of claim 122 , wherein the irinotecan is administered prior to, concomitant with, or subsequent to the 4-iodo-3-nitrobenzamide or a metabolite or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.Cited by (0)
