Method For Ensuring Synchronous Presentation of Additional Data With Audio Data

Abstract

A recording medium, method and apparatus for managing data are discussed. According to an embodiment, the present invention provides a method of reproducing main data and additional data. The method includes receiving the additional data associated with the main data, the additional data being divided into a plurality of segment units; and reproducing the additional data in a synchronous manner with the main data using time information if indication information indicates a presence of the time information. The time information indicates a presentation time of the additional data with respect to the main data. The main data and the additional data are reproduced according to management data, the management data including link information for linking the main data and the additional data.

1 . A method for retrieving a describing data associated with a main data, the method comprising:
 retrieving main data including at least audio data;   retrieving linking information corresponding to the main data;   retrieving describing data corresponding to the main data based on the linking information,   wherein the main data is associated with the describing data using the linking information, and   retrieving indication information; and   retrieving time information when the indication information is a specific value,   wherein the time information is provided in a case that the indication information is a specific value and the time information is not provided in a case that the indication information is not the specific value,   wherein a time line of the describing data is mapped to a time line of the main data based on time information, and   wherein a single main data can be associated with a plurality of describing data.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the describing data is divided into a plurality of segment units. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 2 , wherein a segment unit is mapped to a specific time point on the time line of the main data considering the time information. 
     
     
         4 . An apparatus for retrieving a describing data associated with a main data, the method comprising:
 a retrieving unit that:   retrieves main data including at least audio data;   retrieves linking information corresponding to the main data;   retrieves describing data corresponding to the main data based on the linking information,   wherein the main data is associated with the describing data using the linking information, and   retrieves indication information; and   retrieves time information when the indication information is a specific value,   wherein the time information is provided in a case that the indication information is a specific value and the time information is not provided in a case that the indication information is not the specific value,   wherein a time line of the describing data is mapped to a time line of the main data based on time information, and   wherein a single main data can be associated with a plurality of describing data.   
     
     
         5 . The apparatus of  claim 4 , wherein the describing data is divided into a plurality of segment units. 
     
     
         6 . The apparatus of  claim 5 , wherein a segment unit is mapped to a specific time point on the time line of the main data considering the time information. 
     
     
         7 . A method for providing a describing data associated with a main data, the method comprising:
 providing main data including at least audio data;   providing linking information corresponding to the main data;   providing describing data corresponding to the main data based on the linking information,   wherein the main data is associated with the describing data using the linking information, and   providing indication information; and   providing time information when the indication information is a specific value,   wherein the time information is provided in a case that the indication information is a specific value and the time information is not provided in a case that the indication information is not the specific value,   wherein a time line of the describing data is mapped to a time line of the main data based on time information, and   wherein a single main data can be associated with a plurality of describing data.
