Ethanamine Compounds and Methods of Using the Same

Abstract

(S)-2-methyl- 1 -phenyl-2-(pyridin-2-yl)propan-1-amine, pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, pharmaceutical compositions comprising the same, uses of said compound or salt for therapy of depression and other conditions, and methods of treating depression and other conditions by administering said compound or salt.

1 . A compound that is (S)-2-methyl-1-phenyl-2-(pyridin-2-yl)propan-1-amine having the following structure: 
       
         
           
           
               
               
           
         
       
       or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. 
     
     
         2 . Use of a compound or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof according to  claim 1  for the treatment of depression. 
     
     
         4 . Use of a compound or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof according to  claim 1  is the preparation of a medicament for the treatment of depression 
     
     
         5 . A method of treating depression in a in a human which comprises administering to a person in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of a compound or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof according to  claim 1 . 
     
     
         6 . A pharmaceutical composition comprising a compound or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof according to  claim 1  and at least one pharmaceutically acceptable excipient, diluent or carrier.
