Abstract

In particular embodiments, requests for opinions are received from shoppers. Each request is associated with an image of the respective shopper's appearance. A modified image of the shopper's appearance is determined in relation to a product or service, showing how the shopper's appearance is changed by the product or changed after the service has been performed. The request for opinions and the image of the shopper's appearance is sent to one or more participants. One or more opinions responsive to the request are received. Market intelligence information is determined in relation to the product or service, based on information associated with the requests for opinions.

         20 . A method comprising:
 receiving requests for opinions, each request being received from a shopper and being associated with an image of a shopper's appearance; and   for each request for opinions:
 determining, by one or more processors associated with one or more computer servers, a modified image of the shopper's appearance in relation to a product or service, the modified image showing how the shopper's appearance is changed by the product or changed after the service has been performed; 
 outputting to one or more participants the request for opinions and the image of the shopper's appearance; 
 receiving one or more opinions responsive to the request; and 
 determining, by the one or more processors, market intelligence information related to the product or service, based on information associated with the requests for opinions.

The method of  claim 20 , wherein the information associated with the requests for opinions comprises: (1) the requests for opinions, (2) the opinions responsive to each of the requests for opinions, (3) information regarding characteristics of each shopper, (4) information regarding characteristics of each participant, or (5) any combination thereof 
     
     
         22 . The method of  claim 20 , wherein the market intelligence information comprises information regarding customer perceptions of the product or service. 
     
     
         23 . The method of  claim 20 , wherein the market intelligence information comprises information regarding market trends related to the product or service. 
     
     
         24 . The method of  claim 20 , further comprising providing the market intelligence information to third parties. 
     
     
         25 . The method of  claim 20 , wherein an identity of the shopper is not revealed to the one or more participants. 
     
     
         26 . The method of  claim 20 , wherein each response comprises one of a positive response and a negative response. 
     
     
         27 . The method of  claim 34 , further comprising:
 determining that at least one response comprises a reason for the response; and   providing to the shopper the reason for the response.   
     
     
         28 . The method of  claim 20 , wherein each response comprises a strength of the participant's opinion. 
     
     
         29 . A system comprising:
 a memory storing instructions; and   one or more processors in communication with the memory, the one or more processors being operable to execute the instructions to:
 receive requests for opinions, each request being received from a shopper and being associated with an image of a shopper's appearance; and 
 for each request for opinions:
 determine a modified image of the shopper's appearance in relation to a product or service, the modified image showing how the shopper's appearance is changed by the product or changed after the service has been performed; 
 output to one or more participants the request for opinions and the image of the shopper's appearance; 
 receive one or more opinions responsive to the request; and 
 determine market intelligence information related to the product or service, based on information associated with the requests for opinions.

The system of  claim 29 , wherein the information associated with the requests for opinions comprises: (1) the requests for opinions, (2) the opinions responsive to each of the requests for opinions, (3) information regarding characteristics of each shopper, (4) information regarding characteristics of each participant, or (5) any combination thereof 
     
     
         31 . The system of  claim 29 , wherein the market intelligence information comprises information regarding customer perceptions of the product or service. 
     
     
         32 . The system of  claim 29 , wherein the market intelligence information comprises information regarding market trends related to the product or service. 
     
     
         33 . The system of  claim 29 , the one or more processors being operable to execute further instructions to provide the market intelligence information to third parties. 
     
     
         34 . The system of  claim 29 , wherein an identity of the shopper is not revealed to the one or more participants. 
     
     
         35 . One or more computer-readable non-transitory storage media embodying software operable when executed by one or more computer systems to:
 receive requests for opinions, each request being received from a shopper and being associated with an image of a shopper's appearance; and   for each request for opinions:
 determine, by one or more processors associated with one or more computer servers, a modified image of the shopper's appearance in relation to a product or service, the modified image showing how the shopper's appearance is changed by the product or changed after the service has been performed; 
 output to one or more participants the request for opinions and the image of the shopper's appearance; 
 receive one or more opinions responsive to the request; and 
 determine, by the one or more processors, market intelligence information related to the product or service, based on information associated with the requests for opinions.

The storage media of  claim 35 , wherein the information associated with the requests for opinions comprises: (1) the requests for opinions, (2) the opinions responsive to each of the requests for opinions, (3) information regarding characteristics of each shopper, (4) information regarding characteristics of each participant, or (5) any combination thereof 
     
     
         37 . The storage media of  claim 35 , wherein the market intelligence information comprises information regarding customer perceptions of the product or service. 
     
     
         38 . The storage media of  claim 35 , wherein the market intelligence information comprises information regarding market trends related to the product or service. 
     
     
         39 . The storage media of  claim 35 , embodying further software operable when executed by one or more computer systems to provide the market intelligence information to third parties.
