Abstract

A method of generating and providing script associated with a digital asset is provided. A web application hosted on a server generates script. The script includes code to request the content of the digital asset from a remote site when the code is executed by a browser. The code includes a subscriber identifier for use by the remote site in determining whether a web page is authorized to receive the content of the digital asset. The generated script is provided to a web browser for insertion into, and to become part of, a web page. The script allows for receipt of the content of the digital asset to an authorized web page.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . (canceled)

2 . A method of generating and providing script associated with a digital asset, the method comprising:
 (a) generating script, by a web application hosted on a server, wherein the script includes code to request the content of a digital asset from a remote site when the code is executed by a browser, the code including a subscriber identifier for use by the remote site in determining whether a web page is authorized to receive the content of the digital asset; and (b) providing to a web browser the generated script for insertion into, and to become part of, a web page, wherein the script allows for receipt of the content of the digital asset to an authorized web page.

3 . The method of claim 2 wherein the script is a scripting language.

4 . The method of claim 3 wherein the scripting language is JavaScript.

5 . The method of claim 2 wherein the content is an executable file.

6 . The method of claim 2 wherein the script further includes a content identifier of the digital asset.

7 . The method of claim 2 wherein the code further includes a uniform resource identifier (URI) of the web page for use by the remote site in authenticating whether the URI is authorized to receive the content of the digital asset.

8 . A method of providing a web page that allows for receipt of a digital asset, the method comprising:
 (a) receiving a request from an end user for a web page; and (b) providing the web page including script that has code to request the content of the digital asset from a remote site, the code including a subscriber identifier for use by the remote site in determining whether the web page is authorized to receive the content of the digital asset.

9 . The method of claim 8 wherein the script is a scripting language.

10 . The method of claim 8 wherein the scripting language is JavaScript.

11 . The method of claim 8 wherein the content is an executable file.

12 . The method of claim 8 wherein the script further includes a content identifier of the digital asset.

13 . The method of claim 2 wherein the code further includes a uniform resource identifier (URI) of the web page for use by the remote site in authenticating whether the URI is authorized to receive the content of the digital asset.

14 . A method of preparing source code for a web page that allows for receipt of a digital asset hosted by a content provider, the method comprising:
 (a) requesting script from a web application hosted on a server, wherein the script has code that includes a subscriber identifier for use by the remote site in determining whether the web page is authorized to receive the content of the digital asset; and (b) inserting the script into the web page, thereby preparing source code for the web page that allows for receipt of the digital assets hosted by the content provider.

15 . The method of claim 14 wherein the script is a scripting language.

16 . The method of claim 15 wherein the scripting language is JavaScript.

17 . The method of claim 14 wherein the content is an executable file.

18 . The method of claim 14 wherein the script further includes a content identifier of the digital asset.

19 . The method of claim 14 wherein the code further includes a uniform resource identifier (URI) of the web page for use by the remote site in authenticating whether the URI is authorized to receive the content of the digital asset.

20 . A computer program product for generating and providing script associated with a digital asset, the computer program product comprising non-transitory computer storage media encoded with computer-executable instructions for performing a method comprising:
 (a) generating script, by a web application hosted on a server, wherein the script includes code to request the content of a digital asset from a remote site when the code is executed by a browser, the code including a subscriber identifier for use by the remote site in determining whether a web page is authorized to receive the content of the digital asset; and (b) providing to a web browser the generated script for insertion into, and to become part of, a web page, wherein the script allows for receipt of the content of the digital asset to an authorized web page.

21 . The computer program product of claim 20 wherein the script is a scripting language.

22 . The computer program product of claim 21 wherein the scripting language is JavaScript.

23 . The computer program product of claim 20 wherein the content is an executable file.

24 . The computer program product of claim 20 wherein the script further includes a content identifier of the digital asset.

25 . The computer program product of claim 20 wherein the code further includes a uniform resource identifier (URI) of the web page for use by the remote site in authenticating whether the URI is authorized to receive the content of the digital asset.

26 . A computer program product that allows for receipt of a digital asset, the computer program product comprising non-transitory computer storage media encoded with computer-executable instructions for performing a method comprising:
 (a) receiving a request from an end user for a web page; and (b) providing the web page including script that has code to request the content of the digital asset from a remote site, the code including a subscriber identifier for use by the remote site in determining whether the web page is authorized to receive the content of the digital asset.

27 . The computer program product of claim 26 wherein the script is a scripting language.

28 . The computer program product of claim 27 wherein the scripting language is JavaScript.

28 . The computer program product of claim 26 wherein the content is an executable file.
