Abstract
A foundation having a shade which covers a wide spectrum of different skin tones and undertones, comprises red and gold interference pigments, which provide a formula that is adaptable to both red and yellow skin undertones. The composition virtually eliminates the risk of application of the wrong foundation color, and provides enhanced color and textural effects, and superior optical performance.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A skin cosmetic composition, comprising:
a. colorants, comprising:
i. special effect pigments, comprising: 1) gold/yellow special effect pigments, and 2) red special effect pigments, each of said special effect pigments being present at a concentration between approximately 0.1% and approximately 20% by weight of total composition, and
ii. non-special effect colorants comprising iron oxides;
b. unfermented green rooibos extract at a concentration of approximately 0.01% to approximately 2% by weight of total composition; c. boron nitride powder at a concentration of approximately 0.1% to approximately 10% by weight of total composition; d. zinc oxide at a concentration of approximately 9% to approximately 15% by weight of total composition; e. bisabolol at a concentration of approximately at least 0.05% by weight of total composition; f. lauroyl lysine coated mica at a concentration of approximately 15% to approximately 30% by weight of total composition; and g. bismuth oxychloride at a concentration of approximately 5% to approximately 30% by weight of total composition.
2 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein a ratio of gold/yellow to red pigment of about between 1:2 and 2:1.
3 . The composition of claim 2 , wherein said ratio gold/yellow to red pigments is approximately 1:1.
4 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein said special effect pigments have a refractive index range from 2.4 to 2.8.
5 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein said special effect pigments have a d50 particle size of between approximately 6 μm to 300 nm.
6 . The composition of claim 5 , wherein said gold special effect pigment has a first d50 particle size of approximately 7.9 μm, and said red special effect pigment has a second d50 particle size of approximately 6.8 μm.
7 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein said special effect pigments having a mica base with an interference layer comprising titanium dioxide.
8 . The composition of claim 7 , wherein said titanium dioxide layer of said special effect pigments has an optical thickness of approximately 190 nm for the gold pigment, and approximately 260 nm for the red pigment.
9 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein said composition has an apparent mass tone, wherein said composition is adaptable to a range of at least 6 different skin tones including tones outside said apparent mass tone.
10 . A skin cosmetic, comprising colorants, comprising:
a. gold or yellow special effect pigments; and b. red special effect pigments, wherein each of said special effect pigments is present at a concentration between approximately 0.1% and approximately 20% by weight of total composition.
11 . The composition of claim 10 , further comprising non-special effect colorants comprising iron oxides.
12 . The composition of claim 10 , further comprising unfermented green rooibos extract at a concentration of approximately 0.01% to approximately 2% by weight of total composition.
13 . The composition of claim 10 , further comprising boron nitride powder at a concentration of approximately 0.1% to approximately 10% by weight of total composition.
14 . The composition of claim 10 , further comprising zinc oxide at a concentration of approximately 9% to approximately 15% by weight of total composition.
15 . The composition of claim 10 , further comprising bisabolol at a concentration of approximately at least 0.05% by weight of total composition.
16 . The composition of claim 10 , further comprising lauroyl lysine coated mica at a concentration of approximately 15% to approximately 30% by weight of total composition.
17 . The composition of claim 10 , further comprising bismuth oxychloride at a concentration of approximately 5% to approximately 30% by weight of total composition.
18 . The composition of claim 10 , wherein said cosmetic further comprises other visual effect agents selected from the group consisting of mica, an anti-oxidant, a skin soothing agent, a slip agent, a sunscreen agent, and a skin adhesion agent.
19 . The composition of claim 10 , further comprising a foundation, cover up, concealer, or finishing powder, which is adaptable to a range of different skin tones.Cited by (0)
