Moisture-permeable waterproof fabric

Abstract

Disclosed is a moisture-permeable waterproof fabric which is produced by using a plant-based material and has equivalent or superior performance as compared to conventional petroleum-based polyurethane resins. The moisture-permeable waterproof fabric comprises, on at least one surface thereof, a porous resin film composed of a polyurethane resin containing 5 to 80% by weight of a sebacic acid-based polyol component produced from a plant-based sebacic acid, and has an A-1 moisture permeability and a B-1 moisture permeably both of which are not less than 5,000 g/m 2 ·24 h and a water pressure resistance of not lower than 5,000 mmH 2 O.

A moisture-permeable waterproof fabric, characterized by comprising, on at least one surface thereof, a porous resin film composed of a polyurethane resin containing 5 to 80% by weight of a sebacic acid-based polyol component produced from a plant-based sebacic acid, wherein the moisture permeability measured by JIS L1099 A-1 method and the moisture permeability measured by JIS L1099 B-1 method are both not less than 5,000 g/m 2 ·24 h and the water pressure resistance measured by JIS L-1092 B method (high water pressure method) is not lower than 5,000 mmH 2 O.

The moisture-permeable waterproof fabric according to  claim 1 , wherein said polyurethane resin comprises at least a polyol component, an isocyanate component and a chain extender component and the molar ratio of said polyol component and said isocyanate component, polyol/isocyanate, is between 1/6 and 1/2. 
     
     
         3 . The moisture-permeable waterproof fabric according to  claim 1  or  2 , wherein said sebacic acid-based polyol component is an α,ω-diol which is produced by a reaction of sebacic acid and a diol and has a number average molecular weight of 500 to 5,000.
