Claims

Abstract

A carbon nanotube material is exposed to ultraviolet rays, and a silicon-containing compound capable of modifying the surface of the carbon nanotube material in combination with the ultraviolet rays is supplied to thereby modify the surface of the carbon nanotube material.

         14 . A surface modified carbon nanotube material manufactured by a method comprising a combination of exposing a carbon nanotube material to ultraviolet rays and supplying a silicon-containing compound to the carbon nanotube material,
 wherein the ultraviolet rays include only a wavelength component in the range of 10 to 200 nms, and does not include a wavelength component in the range longer than 200 nms.   
     
     
         15 . A surface modified carbon nanotube material, the surface of which is modified with at least one of a silicon-containing group and a silicon-containing compound. 
     
     
         16 . The surface modified carbon nanotube material according to  claim 15 , wherein the surface modified carbon nanotube material has better affinity when in contact with a silicon-containing substance than before modification. 
     
     
         17 . The surface modified carbon nanotube material according to  claim 15 , wherein the surface modified carbon nanotube material has better affinity when in contact with at least substance selected from the group consisting of the electrically conductive substances, insulating substances, hydrophilic substances lipophilic substances and substances having specific groups than before modification. 
     
     
         18 . An electronic component comprising the surface modified carbon nanotube material according to  claim 15 . 
     
     
         19 . The electronic component according to  claim 18 , wherein the electronic component is a wiring via, electronic device heat dissipation bump, electrically conductive sheet, electromagnetic shielding sheet, or a prepreg for manufacturing the sheets. 
     
     
         20 . An electronic device comprising the surface modified carbon nanotube material according to  claim 15 . 
     
     
         21 . An electronic component comprising the surface modified carbon nanotube material according to  claim 17 . 
     
     
         22 . The electronic component according to  claim 21 , wherein the electronic component is a wiring via, electronic device heat dissipation bump, electrically conductive sheet, electromagnetic shielding sheet, or a prepreg for manufacturing the sheets. 
     
     
         23 . An electronic device comprising a surface modified carbon nanotube material according to  claim 17 .
