Network monitoring systems for medical devices

Abstract

A ventilator monitoring system is described for monitoring a plurality of ventilators. In one embodiment, a server including a dedicated ventilator application program for each type of ventilator, monitors a plurality of heterogeneous ventilators over a wireless network.

         17 . A method of polling a medical device attached to a network, the method comprising:
 polling the medical device periodically across the network to obtain a plurality of data values from a message queue for the medical device; and   looping through the plurality of data values in the message queue, the looping comprising:
 obtaining the name for each of the data values; and 
 determining whether each data value exists, and either creating the data value if no data value exists or updating the data value if the data value has changed. 
   
     
     
         18 . The method of claim  1 , comprising adjusting the medical device based on the plurality of data values received.
