Abstract
A system is provided for determining the quality of merchant supplied enhanced data related to financial transactions performed by holders of financial presentation devices such as credit cards. The system includes a memory storing a plurality of enhanced transaction data (ETD) records and quality check criteria for determining the quality of enhanced data contained in the ETD records. A quality determination module determines a quality of the stored ETD records based on the stored quality check criteria.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . (canceled)
2 - 29 . (canceled)
30 . A method, comprising:
receiving, via a processor, enhanced transaction data comprised of a plurality of fields; retrieving quality check criteria for the plurality of fields associated with the enhanced transaction data; comparing, for each of the plurality of fields, the received enhanced transaction data with the quality check criteria; and determining a quality rating of the enhanced transaction data based on said comparing of the enhanced transaction data with the quality check criteria.
31 . The method of claim 30 wherein the quality check criteria contains a condition for which each field passes or fails.
32 . The method of claim 31 , wherein the quality rating of the enhanced transaction data is a percentage determined by the number of fields that pass compared to the total number of fields.
33 . The method of claim 30 wherein the quality rating is one of low quality, medium quality and high quality.
34 . The method of claim 30 wherein a plurality of quality ratings are determined for a source, and each source receives a source quality score.
35 . The method of claim 34 wherein the source is at least one of: a merchant, an industry and a record type.
36 . An apparatus, comprising:
a memory; a processor disposed in communication with said memory, and configured to issue a plurality of processing instructions stored in the memory, wherein the processor issues instructions to:
receive, via a processor, enhanced transaction data comprised of a plurality of fields;
retrieve quality check criteria for the plurality of fields associated with the enhanced transaction data;
compare, for each of the plurality of fields, the received enhanced transaction data with the quality check criteria; and
determine a quality rating of the enhanced transaction data based on said comparing of the enhanced transaction data with the quality check criteria.
37 . A processor-readable medium storing processor-issuable instructions to:
receive, via a processor, enhanced transaction data comprised of a plurality of fields; retrieve quality check criteria for the plurality of fields associated with the enhanced transaction data; compare, for each of the plurality of fields, the received enhanced transaction data with the quality check criteria; and determine a quality rating of the enhanced transaction data based on said comparing of the enhanced transaction data with the quality check criteria.
38 . A method, comprising:
receiving, at a payment network, transaction data comprised of a plurality of fields; storing, via a processor, an enhanced data record at a payment network, wherein the enhanced data record includes fields for product level information; associating the enhanced data record with a financial transaction; and storing the enhanced data record with the transaction data.
39 . The method of claim 38 , wherein the stored enhanced data and transaction data are saved on the payment network.
40 . The method of claim 38 wherein the enhanced data comprises product level information.
41 . The method of claim 40 wherein the product level information comprises at least one of: a quantity of items purchased, a unit cost of items purchased, an airline ticket number, a customer code, and a merchant category code.
42 . The method of claim 38 wherein storing the enhanced data with the transaction data creates a payment network record.
43 . The method of claim 42 wherein the payment network record is a TC 05 -TCR 3 .
44 . The method of claim 42 wherein the payment network record comprises more than twenty fields.
45 . The method of claim 38 wherein the enhanced data comprises an itinerary.
46 . The method of claim 38 wherein the enhanced data comprises ticket related information.
47 . The method of claim 46 wherein the ticket related information comprises at least one of: a carrier code, an airline ticket number, a passenger name, a departure date, and an airport code.
48 . The method of claim 38 wherein the enhanced data comprises an indication that a purchase was made on the internet.
49 . The method of claim 38 wherein the enhanced data comprises varying quantities of data.
61 . The method of claim 38 , wherein the method further comprises:
obtaining a request for product level information related to the financial transaction from a requestor; retrieving product level information related to the financial transaction; and providing the retrieved product level information to the requestor.
50 . A processor-readable medium storing processor-issuable instructions to:
receive, at a payment network, transaction data comprised of a plurality of fields; store, via a processor, an enhanced data record at a payment network, wherein the enhanced data record includes fields for product level information; associate the enhanced data record with a financial transaction; and store the enhanced data record with the transaction data.
51 . An apparatus, comprising:
a memory; a processor disposed in communication with said memory, and configured to issue a plurality of processing instructions stored in the memory, wherein the processor issues instructions to:
receive, at a payment network, transaction data comprised of a plurality of fields;
store, via a processor, an enhanced data record at a payment network, wherein the enhanced data record includes fields for product level information;
associate the enhanced data record with a financial transaction; and
store the enhanced data record with the transaction data.Cited by (0)
