Localization of a radioactive source within a body of a subject
Abstract
A system and method is provided for determining a route to a target. The system can include a display device, where the display device can be operable to display a graphical representation of a 3 dimensional model of a portion of a vasculature of a body. Further, the display device can be operable to allow a user to select a target location on the 3 dimensional model. Further still, the display device can be operable to automatically determine an intravascular route to the target location using the 3-dimensional model, or it can be operable to allow the user to manually determine an intravascular route to the target location using the graphical representation of the 3-dimensional model.

34 . A method of determining a route to a target comprising:
displaying a graphical representation of a 3-dimensional model of a portion of a vasculature;
wherein the portion of the vasculature is located within a region of a body;
selecting a target location on the 3-dimensional model; and determining an intravascular route to the target location using at least one of: the 3-dimensional model and the graphical representation of the 3-dimensional model; wherein determining the intravascular route is performed at least one of: automatically and manually.
35 . The method of claim 34 , wherein the 3-dimensional model of the portion of the vasculature is generated, at least in part, from a 3-dimensional image dataset of the region of the body.
36 . The method of claim 35 , wherein the 3-dimensional image dataset is at least one of: a CT image dataset, an MRI image dataset, and a fluoroscopy 3D angiography image dataset.
37 . A system for determining a route to a target, the system comprising:
a display device; wherein the display device is operable to display a graphical representation of a 3-dimensional model of a portion of a vasculature of a body; wherein the display device is operable to allow a user to select a target location on the 3-dimensional model; wherein the display device is at least one of:
operable to automatically determine an intravascular route to the target location using the 3-dimensional model; and
operable to allow the user to manually determine an intravascular route to the target location using the graphical representation of the 3-dimensional model.Cited by (0)
