Abstract
The present invention relates to nucleic acid sequences and amino acid sequences which influence bone deposition, the Wnt pathway, ocular development, tooth development, and may bind to LRP. The nucleic acid sequence and polypeptides include Wise and Sost as well as a family of molecules which express a cysteine knot polypeptide. Additionally, the present invention relates to various molecular tools derived from the nucleic acids and polypeptides including vectors, transfected host cells, monochronal antibodies, Fab fragments, and methods for impacting the pathways.

239 . The method according to claim 237 , wherein the LRP is LRP 6.
240 . The method according to claim 236 , wherein the LRP is selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID Nos: 81-82.
241 . The method according to claim 236 , wherein the agent is selected from the group consisting of a monoclonal antibody, a Fv fragment of an antibody, a Fab fragment of an antibody, a Fab 2 fragment of an antibody, and an antibody combining region.
242 . The method according to claim 241 , wherein the agent is a monoclonal antibody or a Fab fragment thereof.
243 . The method according to claim 242 , wherein the monoclonal antibody or a Fab fragment thereof specifically binds to a Sost polypeptide that is encoded by a nucleic acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 10.
