Game with a flying object

Abstract

Methods and devices, including kits, are disclosed herein for playing a flying disc game. For instance, some aspects are directed to kits for playing flying disc game that can include one or more poles (e.g., two), one or more target objects (e.g., two), and/or a flying disc. The pole can be insertable into a ground surface, or can optionally be inserted into a free standing base. The target object can be detachably placed on the a target support of the pole, which can be dislodged by a player throwing the flying disc at the target object. Various configurations for the poles, target objects, and flying disc are discussed. As well, a method for playing a flying disc game, (e.g., one using some assembly of the equipment disclosed) is also revealed.

         18 . A kit for playing a flying disc game, comprising:
 at least one pole including a target support having a curved surface;   at least one target object configured to mate with the target support; and   a flying disc configured to be thrown by a person for detaching the target object from the target support when the flying disc strikes at least one of the at least one pole and the at least one target object;   wherein the at least one target object has a curved surface that is complementary to the curved surface of the target support.   
     
     
         19 . The kit of  claim 18 , wherein the curved surface of the target support is a substantially convex surface that faces away from a first end of the at least one pole. 
     
     
         20 . The kit of  claim 18 , wherein the curved surface of target support extends beyond a width of the target object. 
     
     
         21 . The kit of  claim 19 , wherein the target support is detachable from the first end of the at least one pole. 
     
     
         22 . The kit of  claim 18 , wherein the at least one pole comprises a plurality of poles, and the at least one target object comprises a plurality of target objects equal in number to the plurality of poles. 
     
     
         23 . The kit of  claim 18 , wherein the at least one pole is configured to be positioned in an upright configuration. 
     
     
         24 . The kit of  claim 18 , wherein the at least one pole comprises a height marker configured to designate a selected distance above a ground surface. 
     
     
         25 . The kit of  claim 18 , wherein the at least one pole comprises an insertion marker configured to designate an insertion depth for the at least one pole. 
     
     
         26 . The kit of  claim 18 , wherein the at least one target object comprises a bottle shaped object. 
     
     
         27 . The kit of  claim 18 , wherein the flying disc has a weight in a range between about 100 grams and about 200 grams. 
     
     
         28 . A kit for playing a flying disc game, comprising:
 at least one pole;   a target support adapted for detachably coupling to a first end of the pole, said target support having a curved surface;   at least one target object configured to mate with the target support; and   a flying disc configured to be thrown by a person for detaching the target object from the target support when the flying disc strikes at least one of the at least one pole and the at least one target object;   wherein the at least one target object has a curved surface that is complementary to the curved surface of the target support.   
     
     
         29 . The kit of  claim 28 , wherein the at least one pole is configured to be positioned in an upright configuration. 
     
     
         30 . The kit of  claim 28 , further comprising a free standing base configured to receive a second end of the pole. 
     
     
         31 . The kit of  claim 30 , wherein the base includes a void space for receiving weighting material. 
     
     
         32 . The kit of  claim 31 , wherein the base further includes an opening configured to receive a removable plug for securing the weighting material within the void space. 
     
     
         33 . The kit of  claim 28 , wherein the target support and the first end of the pole are detachably coupled using a screw fitting. 
     
     
         34 . The kit of  claim 28 , wherein the target object is formed from non-breakable material. 
     
     
         35 . The kit of  claim 28 , wherein the target object comprises a bottle shaped object. 
     
     
         36 . The kit of  claim 28 , wherein the target object includes a plurality of ribs. 
     
     
         37 . The kit of  claim 28 , wherein the target object has a weight of about 7 ounces.
