Interchangeable adornments for fashion articles

Abstract

An interchangeable adornment for a fashion article has a base and a first attachment element coupled to the base for detachably attaching the base to arbitrary location on the surface of the fashion article and in an arbitrary rotational orientation relative to the surface without penetrating the surface. A first ornament is coupled to the base and a second ornament is detachably coupled to the first ornament by way of a fastener. The first ornament may be mounted on a stem which projects from the base such that at least a portion of the stem passes through a portion of the first ornament which is located between the base and a retainer which extends radially outwardly from the stem.

1 . An adornment for a fashion article, said adornment comprising:
 (a) a base;   (b) a first attachment element coupled to said base for detachably attaching said base to a surface of the fashion article at an arbitrary location on said surface and in an arbitrary orientation relative to said surface without penetrating said surface;   (c) a first ornament coupled to said base;   (d) a second ornament detachably coupled to said first ornament by way of a fastener.

An adornment as claimed in  claim 1  further comprising a stem projecting from said base and a retainer coupled to said stem and extending radially outwardly from said stem, said first ornament being mounted on said stem, at least a portion of said stem passing through a portion of said first ornament located between said base and said retainer. 
     
     
         3 . An adornment as claimed in  claim 2  wherein said first attachment element comprises an attachment element selected from the group consisting of: a permanent magnet, a magnetically attractable member, a piece of hook material and a piece of loop material. 
     
     
         4 . An adornment as claimed in  claim 2  wherein said fastener comprises a attachment element selected from the group consisting of: a permanent magnet, a magnetically attractable member, a piece of hook material, a piece of loop material, a snap fastener male portion, and a snap fastener female portion. 
     
     
         5 . An adornment as claimed in  claim 3 , wherein at least one of said first ornament and said second ornament comprises an ornament selected from the group consisting of: a ribbon, an artificial flower, a bow, a gem, an artificial gem, a stone, a bead, and a feather a representation of a creature, a representation of a plant, a representation of a character.
