Abstract

An improved seat pad and integrated gripping member is provided, which prevents the pad from slipping when placed between a seating surface and individual. The gripping member is permanently attached to the seat pad along its edge and covers a portion of either side of the seating surface. The gripping member is reversible therefore either side of the seat pad may be selectively exposed during use. This allows both seat pad sides to be constructed of different materials, colors, or patterns and be interchangeable when desired by the user.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A reversible slip-resistant pad comprising:
a cushion; a cover comprising a top and bottom, the cushion being disposed inside the cover between the top and bottom; and wherein the cover has an opening to receive the cushion; a slip-resistant member attached to the cover at a first position and at a second position; wherein the slip-resistant member is reversible from being in contact with the top to being in contact with the bottom; and wherein the slip-resistant member is in contact with the top, the slip-resistant member extends across the top from the first position to the second position and when the slip resistant member is in contact with the bottom, the slip resistant material extends across the bottom from the first position to the second position.

2 . The pad of claim 1 , wherein the cover has a perimeter with the first and second portions that are non-overlapping, the first portion of the perimeter extending from the first portion of the second position and the second portion of the perimeter extending from the second position to the first position,
the slip-resistant member is connected to the cover at a third position on the perimeter that is in the first portion of the perimeter, and the slip-resistant member is disconnected from the cover over the second portion of the perimeter.

3 . The pad of claim 1 , wherein the first and second positions are on the middle of cover between the top and the bottom.

4 . The pad of claim 1 , wherein the slip-resistant cover extends across the top or the bottom,. when in contact with the top or bottom, respectively.

5 . The pad of claim 1 , wherein the cushion is filler material, foam or a bladder.

6 . The pad of claim 1 , wherein the slip-resistant material is attached to opposite ends of a pad of substantial length.

7 . The pad of claim 1 , wherein the slip-resistant material is made of a mesh like material.

         8 . A reversible pad comprising:
a cushion; a cover including a top and a bottom panel to receive the said cushion; a slip-resistant member configured to contact the cover when the cushion is received by the cover and the cushion is uncompressed beyond compression induced by the cover; the slip-resistant member configured to cover a select portion of the top or bottom panel.; wherein the perimeter of the slip-resistant material is securely fastened to the outer perimeter between the top or bottom panel; and wherein the slip-resistant panels being disposed against and overlying the top panel of the cover when in the first position to cover a portion of the top panel and the slip-resistant panels being disposed against and overlying the bottom panel of the cover when in the second position to cover a portion of the lower panel thereby providing selective slip resistance to top and bottom sides of the pad.

9 . The pad of claim 8 , wherein the pad further comprises a first side panel, a second side panel, and a third side panel, said first, second, and third side panels comprising an edge formed about a periphery of said panels, said edge attached to said perimeters of said upper and lower panels, said second and third side panels adjacent one another and forming a seam there between wherein an edge of the slip-resistant panels are attached along said seam.

10 . The pad of claim 8 , wherein the pad is configured to have different materials on the top and bottom panel.

11 . The pad of claim 8 , wherein said slip-resistant material comprises of a mesh like material.

12 . The pad of claim 8 , wherein the cushion is filler material, foam or a bladder.

13 . The pad of claim 8 , wherein the cushion is received through and opening at the seam within the side panel

14 . The pad of claim 8 , wherein a panel comprises a visual graphic or indicator.

15 . The pad of claim 8 , wherein the top or bottom panel comprises of at least a different pattern, reflective or water proof material.

         16 . A pad comprising:
a cushion; a top panel, a bottom panel, and a side panel with the side panel being fixedly attached along the perimeter of the top panel and fixedly attached along the perimeter of the bottom panel, the cover being configured to provide an internal chamber configured to receive the cushion; the side panel further comprises multiple components attached to select perimeters of the top and bottom panel; and the side panel assembly seam configured to receive a slip-resistant panel; the slip-resistant panel configured to contact the top or bottom panel when the cushion is received by the cover; and wherein the perimeter of the slip-resistant panel is fixedly attached about the mid-section between the top and bottom panel; and and wherein the slip-resistant panel being disposed against and overlying the top panel of the cover when in the first position to cover a portion of the top panel and the slip-resistant panel being disposed against and overlying the bottom panel of the cover when in the second position to cover a portion of the lower panel thereby providing selective slip resistance to top and bottom sides of the pad.

17 . The pad of claim 16 , wherein the slip-resistant panel forms a pocket for storage between the top or bottom panel.

18 . The pad of claim 16 , wherein the pad is configured to have different materials on the top and bottom panel.

19 . The pad of claim 16 , wherein, wherein pad comprises a disposable liner.

20 . The pad of claim 16 , wherein the cushion is filler material, foam or a bladder.
