Abstract

Embolic implants, delivery systems and methods of manufacture and delivery are disclosed. The devices can be used for aneurysm treatment and/or parent vessel occlusion. Implant designs offer low profile compressibility for delivery to neurovasculature, while maintaining other necessary features such as density for occlusion purposes and desirable radial strength characteristics.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . An embolic device comprising:
braid forming inner and outer layers, the layers defining an open volume and being adapted to compress for delivery through a catheter and expand upon release from constraint, the inner and outer layers meeting at a folded section closed at one end of the device, characterized in that, the inner and outer layers further meet at a hub closing and holding at least the outer braid layer at the other end of the device.

2 . The device of claim 1 , wherein portions of the device adjacent to the hub and to the fold are rounded when fully expanded.

3 . The device of claim 2 , wherein a central section of the device is cylindrical when fully expanded.

4 . The device of claim 1 , wherein both inner and outer layers at the end of the device at the folded section together define a dome-shaped atraumatic surface when expanded.

5 . The device of claim 4 , further comprising a filament tie interposed between the inner and outer layers, holding the folded section closed.

6 . The device of claim 1 , further comprising a marker band interposed between the inner and outer layers, holding the folded section closed.

7 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the inner braid layer is not held in the hub.

8 . The device of claim 7 , wherein the inner braid layer terminates adjacent to the hub.

9 . The device of claim 1 , wherein both the inner and outer braid layers are held in the hub.

10 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the hub comprises an inner band and an outer band capturing the braid, the inner band defining a hub port.

11 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the hub comprises a band outside the braid, the braid secured to the band.

12 . The device of claim 11 , wherein the braid defines a hub port.

13 . The device of claim 11 , where adhesive secures the braid to the band.
