Abstract
An assembly for supporting a motor of a vehicle powertrain includes a casing covering transmission gearing including an opening and a mounting surface surrounding the opening, a stator secured to the casing, including a reference surface spaced from an axis, and a terminal assembly seated on the mounting surface and secured to the casing, including a terminal electrically connected to the stator through a current conductor.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . An assembly for supporting a motor of a vehicle powertrain, comprising:
a casing covering transmission gearing, including an opening and a mounting surface surrounding the opening; a stator secured to the casing, including a reference surface spaced from an axis; a terminal assembly seated on the mounting surface and secured to the casing, including a terminal electrically connected to the stator through a current conductor.
2 . The assembly of claim 1 , wherein the conductor is flexible in flexure, such that a distance between the axis and the reference surface is substantially unchanged by producing said connection.
3 . The assembly of claim 2 , wherein each conductor is flexible in flexure, such that said distance is substantially unchanged by producing said connections.
4 . The assembly of claim 1 , wherein:
the stator is secured by mechanical fasteners to an inner surface of the casing, such that the reference surface is spaced by a predetermined distance from the axis.
5 . The assembly of claim 1 , wherein:
the terminal assembly includes a block seated on the mounting surface and secured to the casing by second mechanical fasteners, the block supporting electrical terminals, each terminal being connectable to the stator.
6 . The assembly of claim 1 , wherein the terminal assembly includes:
a block seated on the mounting surface; terminals supported on the block; second mechanical fasteners for securing the terminals and the block to the casing.
7 . The assembly of claim 1 , wherein the terminal assembly includes:
a block seated on the mounting surface; terminals supported on the block; second mechanical fasteners for securing the terminals and the block to the casing; receptacles electrical connected to the terminals by third mechanical fasteners; conductors, each conductor electrically connected to one of the receptacles and the stator.
8 . An assembly for supporting a motor of a vehicle powertrain, comprising:
a casing at least partially enclosing transmission gearing, including an opening and a mounting surface surrounding the opening; a stator secured to the casing, including a reference surface spaced radially from an axis; a terminal assembly seated on the mounting surface and secured to the casing, including a terminals, each terminal electrically connected to the stator through a current conductor.
9 . The assembly of claim 8 , wherein:
the stator includes a reference surface, and is secured by mechanical fasteners to an inner surface of the casing, such that the reference surface is spaced by a predetermined distance from the axis.
10 . The assembly of claim 8 , wherein:
the terminal assembly includes a block seated on the mounting surface and secured to the casing by second mechanical fasteners, the block supporting the terminals.
11 . The assembly of claim 8 , wherein the terminal assembly includes:
a block seated on the mounting surface, the terminal supported on the block; second mechanical fasteners for securing the terminals and the block to the casing.
12 . The assembly of claim 8 , wherein the terminal assembly includes:
a block seated on the mounting surface, the terminal supported on the block; second mechanical fasteners for securing the terminals and the block to the casing; receptacles electrical connected to the terminals by third mechanical fasteners; conductors, each conductor electrically connected to one of the receptacles and the stator.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
