Abstract
A system and method for the online settling of a transaction is provided. The system includes a server arrangement configured to determine a set of curves or planes defining acceptable settlement conditions for the financial transaction, enabling the user to select an acceptable settlement condition using interactive controls or computer implemented controls engageable by the user, such as sliding selectors or rotatable dials or the like, or controls enabling placement of points on a curve or curves.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A system for settling a transaction, comprising:
a server arrangement configured to receive communications from a user, comprising:
a rules based engine including rules established on behalf of a party to the transaction, the rules based engine configured to process available financial information and establish a set of curves based on rules established on behalf of the party to the transaction and available financial information;
wherein the server arrangement is further configured to provide computer implemented controls engageable by the user, the computer implemented controls enabling the user to select transaction settlement conditions conforming to the set of curves based on the rules established on behalf of the party to the transaction.
2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the server arrangement further comprises a parsing module configured to receive available financial information and parse information based on the rules established on behalf of the party to the transaction.
3 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the server arrangement further comprises a portfolio management module configured to manage a portfolio comprising a plurality of transactions based on actions taken by multiple users and aspects associated with the portfolio.
4 . The system of claim 1 , wherein computer implemented controls engageable by the user comprise one from a group consisting of:
at least two slideable selectors; at least two rotatable dials; and a combination of at least one slideable selector and at least one rotatable dial.
5 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the rules based engine relies on at least one dictionary employed to translate received information into information used within the server arrangement.
6 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the transaction settlement offer set comprises a plurality of offers presentable to the user and formed according to the rules established on behalf of the party to the transaction.
7 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the server arrangement further comprises a payment processing module configured to present the user with at least one payment option related to at least one offer.
8 . A system configured to settle a financial transaction between a user and a party to the financial transaction, comprising:
a server arrangement comprising:
a rules engine configured to process data regarding the financial transaction using rules established on behalf of the party to the financial transaction;
wherein the server arrangement is configured to provide computer implemented controls engageable by the user, the computer implemented controls enabling the user to select transaction settlement conditions conforming to a set of curves based on the rules established on behalf of the party to the financial transaction.
9 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the user comprises a user and the transaction comprises a debt owed by the user.
10 . A method of settling a financial transaction, comprising:
employing, using a server arrangement, a set of criteria provided by a creditor entity to establish a set of acceptable transaction settlement conditions; wherein the set of criteria is representable by at least one curve; and providing, using the server arrangement, computer implemented controls engageable by a user, the computer implemented controls enabling the user to select variable transaction settlement conditions related to the acceptable transaction settlement conditions established on behalf of the creditor entity.
11 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the providing comprises providing the computer implemented controls to one from a group consisting of a personal digital assistant (PDA), smartphone, wireless telephone or other telephone, smart phone, tablet computing device, handheld PC, and digital camera.
12 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising seeking financial information pertinent to the user prior to the employing, and when the financial information is available, receiving the financial information at the server arrangement.
13 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the financial information received at the server arrangement is employed to establish the set of acceptable transaction settlement conditions.
14 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the financial transaction comprises a debt owed by the user.
15 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the server arrangement comprises a rules based engine configured to operate on information received based on rules provided on behalf of the creditor entity.
16 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the server arrangement further comprises:
a parsing module configured to receive information and parse information based on the rules established on behalf of the creditor entity; and a portfolio management module configured to manage a portfolio comprising a plurality of transactions based on actions taken by multiple debtor entities and aspects associated with the portfolio.
17 . A system for settling a transaction, comprising:
a server arrangement comprising: a rules based engine including rules established on behalf of a party to the transaction employable to form acceptable transaction settlement conditions; wherein the server arrangement is further configured to provide a set of computer implemented controls engageable by a user, the computer implemented controls enabling the user to select transaction settlement conditions conforming to the acceptable transaction settlement conditions established on behalf of the party to the transaction.
18 . The system of claim 17 , wherein the server arrangement is further configured to receive available financial information and further comprises a parsing module configured to parse information received based on the rules established on behalf of the party to the transaction.
19 . The system of claim 17 , wherein the server arrangement further comprises a portfolio management module configured to manage a portfolio comprising a plurality of transactions based on actions taken by multiple users and aspects associated with the portfolio.
20 . The system of claim 17 , wherein the user comprises a debtor and the transaction comprises a debt owed by the debtor.
21 . The system of claim 17 , wherein the rules based engine relies on at least one dictionary employed to translate received information into information used within the server arrangement.
22 . The system of claim 17 , wherein the server arrangement further comprises a payment processing module configured to present the user with at least one payment option for settling the transaction.Cited by (0)
