Assisting ventilator documentation at a point of care

Abstract

A method for assisting ventilator documentation at a point of care. The method includes accessing ventilator data of a ventilator associated with a patient; displaying the ventilator data at a point of care of the patient; and confirming the ventilator data is correct at the point of care to assist in the ventilator documentation.

1 . A method for assisting ventilator documentation at a point of care, said method comprising:
 accessing ventilator data of a ventilator associated with a patient;   displaying said ventilator data at a point of care of said patient; and   confirming said ventilator data is correct at said point of care to assist in said ventilator documentation.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein said accessing ventilator data further comprises:
 accessing streaming ventilator data of said ventilator associated with said patient.   
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein said accessing ventilator data at a point of care further comprises:
 accessing said ventilator data at a handheld device at said point of care.   
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 3 , wherein said accessing streaming ventilator data at a handheld device further comprises:
 in response to associating said handheld device to said ventilator, automatically accessing said ventilator data at said handheld device.   
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein said displaying said ventilator data at a point of care further comprises:
 displaying said ventilator data at a handheld device.   
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein said confirming said ventilator data is correct at said point of care further comprises:
 confirming said ventilator data is correct at a hand held device.   
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 in response to said confirmation, transmitting said correct ventilator data to a patient medical record.   
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 annotating said ventilator data at said point of care.   
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 generating a rounding report based on said confirmed correct ventilator data.   
     
     
         10 . A system for assisting ventilator documentation at a point of care comprising:
 a data accessor configured for accessing ventilator data of a ventilator associated with a patient;   a display configured for displaying said ventilator data at a point of care of said patient for ventilator documentation; and   a correct ventilator data confirmer configured for confirming said ventilator data is correct at said point of care to assist in said ventilator documentation based on user input.   
     
     
         11 . The system of  claim 10 , wherein said display comprises:
 a touchscreen display.   
     
     
         12 . The system of  claim 10 , further comprising:
 a transmitter configured for transmitting said ventilator data.   
     
     
         13 . The system of  claim 10 , further comprising:
 a report generator for generating a report based on said confirmed correct ventilator data.   
     
     
         14 . The system of  claim 10 , wherein said system is disposed in a handheld device. 
     
     
         15 . The system of  claim 10 , wherein said system is disposed in said ventilator.
