Abstract

A method and apparatus for attaching a standard mounting rail to a handgun. Such method and apparatus providing for quicker and cheaper modification of the handgun and its accessories. This method and apparatus connects the standard mounting rail system to the handgun at two points rather than at the traditional one point, increasing reliability and stability.

We claim: 
     
         1 . A method for attachment of a mounting system to a handgun comprising:
 A means of attaching said mounting system to the top of said handgun;   A means of attaching said mounting system to the butt of said handgun;   
     
     
         2 . The handgun of  claim 1  wherein said handgun is a real firearm, toy gun, or other dischargeable device. 
     
     
         3 . The means of attaching said mounting system to the top of said handgun of  claim 1  whereby said means comprises any group of the following: interlocking male and female counterparts, integration by welding or cutting of an original handgun slide rail, adhesives, or integration parts (such as screws, nuts, bolts, and nails); 
     
     
         4 . The integration part of  claim 3  wherein said integration part may also function as a cocking handle. 
     
     
         5 . The means of attaching said mounting system to the butt of said handgun from  claim 1  whereby said means comprises:
 a handgun slide rail butt with an opening for an integration part; 
 a mounting system with an opening for an integration part; 
 an integrating screw, bolt, or other integration part. 
 
     
     
         6 . The integration part of  claim 5  wherein said integration part may also function as a cocking handle. 
     
     
         7 . The method for attachment of a mounting system to a handgun from  claim 1  wherein the means of attaching said mounting system to the top of said handgun and the means of attaching said mounting system to the butt of said handgun are integrated. 
     
     
         8 . The means of integration from  claim 7  whereby said means comprises any group of the following: interlocking male and female counterparts, integration by welding or cutting of a handgun, adhesives, or integration parts (such as screws, nuts, bolts, and nails). 
     
     
         9 . The mounting system from  claim 1  wherein said mounting system is a rail system.
