Abstract
A method pertaining to an HC dosing system wherein fuel from a container ( 205 ) is supplied to a feed device which supplies to at least one consumption point ( 250 ). Determining presence of air supplied upstream of the feed device ( 230 ). When such presence is found reducing an operating power of the feed device ( 230 ) compared with its ordinary operation. A computer programme product containing programme code (P) for a computer ( 200; 210 ) for implementing the method. Also an HC dosing system and a motor vehicle ( 100 ) which is equipped with the HC dosing system are disclosed.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method pertaining to an HC dosing system comprising:
supplying fuel from a container to a feed device and then via the feed device, supplying said fuel to at least one consumption point; determining presence of air supplied upstream in a path of said fuel to said feed device, and when said presence of air is determined, reducing an operating power of said feed device compared with ordinary operation of said feed device.
2 . A method according to claim 1 , further comprising:
determining said presence of air based on at least one of detecting operating power of a power source which is configured to power said feed device, detecting delivery pressure of said feed device, and after a determined period during which a deviant operation of said feed device occurs during said presence of air.
3 . A method according to claim 1 , further comprising the step of
maintaining said reduced operating power of said feed device until said presence of air is brought down to a selected level.
4 . A method according to claim 3 , wherein said selected level of air caters for at least one of a detected operating power of a power source which is configured to powering said feed device, a detected delivery pressure of said feed device, and a determined period during which running of said feed device is at reduced operating power compared with ordinary operating power of said feed device.
5 . A method according to claim 1 , wherein the HC dosing system is comprised by a DPF system.
6 . A method according to claim 1 , wherein said fuel is diesel fuel or another hydrocarbon-based fuel.
7 . A method according to claim 1 , wherein said feed device comprises a diaphragm pump.
8 . A method according to claim 1 , wherein said
reducing of said operating power of said feed device is by at least 40% compared with ordinary operation of said feed device.
9 . A method according to claim 1 , wherein said at least one consumption point is a dosing unit for fuel.
10 . A method according to claim 1 , further comprising:
increasing the reduced operating power of said feed device in at least one stage, or by ramping, to any suitable operating power.
11 . An HC dosing system for supplying fuel to at least one consumption point by applying fuel from a container to a feed device, and said feed device is configured for supplying said fuel to said at least one consumption point;
said system further comprising: a device for determining presence of air supplied upstream in a path of fuel to the feed device, and when said presence of air is determined, a device configured for reducing an operating power of said feed device compared with ordinary operation of said feed device.
12 . An HC dosing system according to claim 11 , further comprising:
a device for determining said presence of air based on at least one of a detected operating power of a power source which is configured to powering said feed device, a detected delivery pressure of said feed device, and a determined period during which a deviant operation of said feed device occurs during said presence of air.
13 . An HC dosing system according to claim 11 , further comprising:
a device for maintaining said reduced operating power of said feed device until said presence of air is brought down to a desirable level.
14 . An HC dosing system according to claim 13 , in which said desirable level of air is a predetermined level catering for at least one of a detected operating power of a power source which is configured for powering said feed device, a detected delivery pressure of said feed device, and a determined period of said feed device running at reduced operating power of said feed device.
15 . An HC dosing system according to claim 11 , wherein said HC dosing system is comprised by a DPF system.
16 . An HC dosing system according to claim 11 , wherein said fuel is diesel fuel or another hydrocarbon-based fuel.
17 . An HC dosing system according to claim 11 , wherein said feed device is a diaphragm pump.
18 . An HC dosing system according to claim 11 , further comprising:
a device for reducing said operating power of said feed device by at least 40% compared with ordinary operation.
19 . An HC dosing system according to claim 11 , wherein said at least one consumption point is a dosing unit for said fuel.
20 . An HC dosing system according to claim 11 , further comprising:
a device for increasing the reduced operating power of said feed device in at least one stage, or by ramping, to any suitable operating power.
21 . A motor vehicle comprising an HC dosing system according to claim 11 .
22 . A motor vehicle according to claim 21 , comprising a truck, bus or passenger car.
23 . A computer programme product pertaining to an HC dosing system wherein said programme product comprises non-transitory programme code with non-transitory programme instructions for causing a computer system to perform steps according to claim 1 on an electronic control unit or causing another computer connected to the electronic control unit to perform such steps when instructions in said code are run on said computer.
24 . A computer programme product according to claim 23 , wherein said product contains a programme code stored on a non-transitory computer-readable medium which can be ready by said computer system for performing method steps, when said computer programme is run on an electronic control unit or another computer connected to said electronic control unit.Cited by (0)
