Abstract
Purified genes encoding a T cell surface antigen from a mammal, reagents related thereto including purified proteins, specific antibodies, and nucleic acids encoding this antigen are provided. Methods of using said reagents and diagnostic kits are also provided.

23 . A substantially pure polypeptide comprising an extracellular domain of SEQ ID NO:4.
24 . The polypeptide of claim 23 , wherein the polypeptide is conjugated to a chemical moiety.
25 . The polypeptide of claim 23 , wherein the polypeptide is fused to a heterologous protein.
26 . The polypeptide of claim 25 , wherein the heterologous protein is selected from the group consisting of luciferase, bacterial β-galactosidase, trpE, Protein A, β-lactamase, alpha amylase, alcohol dehydrogenase, yeast alpha mating factor, and His 6 (SEQ ID NO:8).
27 . A pharmaceutical formulation comprising the polypeptide of claim 23 and a pharmaceutically and physiologically acceptable carrier.
28 . A substantially pure polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:4.
