Contextual Information

Abstract

Methods, systems, and products provide contextual information for communications. A call, for example, is processed from an origination address to a destination address. A query is made for a brand of device associated with the origination address making the call. The brand of device is announced during the call.

1 . A method, comprising:
 processing a call from an origination address to a destination address;   retrieving from memory a brand of device associated with the origination address making the call; and   announcing the brand of device during the call.   
     
     
         2 . The method according to  claim 1 , further comprising querying the memory for the brand of device. 
     
     
         3 . The method according to  claim 1 , further comprising retrieving a profile associated with the destination address. 
     
     
         4 . The method according to  claim 3 , further comprising querying the profile for the brand of device. 
     
     
         5 . The method according to  claim 4 , further comprising determining the profile lacks the brand of device. 
     
     
         6 . The method according to  claim 5 , further comprising determining an alternate communications path when the profile lacks the brand of device. 
     
     
         7 . The method according to  claim 5 , further comprising:
 retrieving advertising associated with the brand of device; and   playing the advertising during the call.   
     
     
         8 . A system, comprising:
 a processor; and   memory for storing code that when executed causes the processor to perform operations, the operations comprising:   processing a call from an origination address to a destination address;   retrieving a brand of device associated with the origination address making the call; and   announcing the brand of device during the call.   
     
     
         9 . The system according to  claim 8 , wherein the code further causes the processor to query for the brand of device. 
     
     
         10 . The system according to  claim 8 , wherein the code further causes the processor to retrieve a profile associated with the destination address. 
     
     
         11 . The system according to  claim 8 , wherein the code further causes the processor to query the profile for the brand of device. 
     
     
         12 . The system according to  claim 11 , wherein the code further causes the processor to determine the profile lacks the brand of device. 
     
     
         13 . The system according to  claim 12 , wherein the code further causes the processor to determine an alternate communications path when the profile lacks the brand of device. 
     
     
         14 . The system according to  claim 12 , wherein the code further causes the processor to:
 retrieve advertising associated with the brand of device; and   play the advertising during the call.   
     
     
         15 . A computer readable memory storing instructions that when executed cause a processor to perform operations, the operations comprising:
 processing a call from an origination address to a destination address;   retrieving a brand of device associated with the origination address making the call; and   announcing the brand of device during the call.   
     
     
         16 . The computer readable memory according to  claim 15 , wherein the instructions further cause the processor to query for the brand of device. 
     
     
         17 . The computer readable memory according to  claim 15 , wherein the instructions further cause the processor to retrieve a profile associated with the destination address. 
     
     
         18 . The computer readable memory according to  claim 17 , wherein the instructions further cause the processor to query the profile for the brand of device. 
     
     
         19 . The computer readable memory according to  claim 18 , wherein the instructions further cause the processor to determine the profile lacks the brand of device. 
     
     
         20 . The computer readable memory according to  claim 19 , wherein the instructions further cause the processor to:
 retrieve advertising associated with the brand of device; and   play the advertising during the call.
