Kit of a plurality of detachable pockets, a detachable pocket, and associated methods
Abstract
Embodiments of the present invention provide a kit of a plurality of detachable pockets, a detachable pocket and associated methods. An embodiment of a kit has a container with a plurality of detachable pockets positioned therein. Each pocket within the container be used to hold personal items on a person's clothing or skin by adherence of the pocket to a person's skin or clothing. Example embodiments of the detachable pocket include a pocket body having a pocket layer and a flange. Both the pocket layer and the flange can be fabricated from one or more materials. The pocket layer can have an end to be attached as open and defining an open end and three sides having the flange disposed there around and to which adhesive is disposed. The pocket can be attached and removed as desired.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedThat claimed is:
1 . A detachable pocket, the pocket comprising:
a pocket body formed of a unitary pocket layer adapted to adhere to a surface and having a flange positioned along peripheral edge portions thereof.
2 . A detachable pocket as defined in claim 1 , wherein the unitary pocket layer is substantially rectangular, the unitary pocket layer having an end to be attached as open and defining an open end and having three sides, along and to which adhesive is disposed, and wherein the detachable pocket further comprises decorative material connected to the unitary pocket layer and adapted to be positioned adjacent an inner surface of clothing when positioned on a wearer so that the decorative material is readily viewable by a wearer and others when the detachable pocket is attached to the inner surface and extends beyond peripheries of the inner surface.
3 . A detachable pocket as defined in claim 1 , wherein the pocket body includes a flange configured generally to define a substantial U-shape and having an adhesive side for adhering to a surface, and wherein a side of the flange adheringly mates with two or more edges of the unitary pocket layer, the side of the flange generally corresponding in shape with the two or more edges of the unitary pocket layer.
4 . A detachable pocket as defined in claim 3 , wherein the flange has an adhesive present on both sides for adhering to the unitary pocket layer on one side and adhering to a surface on the other side, both sides of the flange forming a U-shape of adhesive.
5 . A detachable pocket as defined in claim 1 , wherein the unitary pocket layer has an adhesive present along two or more edges for adhering to a non-adhesive side of the flange, wherein the unitary pocket layer has an adhesive edge that forms a closed end against the flange, the closed end being opposite the open end, and wherein the detachable pocket further comprises decorative material connected to the unitary pocket layer and adapted to be positioned on an inner surface of clothing when positioned on a wearer so that the decorative material is readily viewable by a wearer and others when the detachable pocket is attached to the inner surface and extends beyond peripheries of the inner surface.
6 . A detachable pocket as defined in claim 1 , wherein the pocket layer forms a substantially concave polygon when positioned on a surface and has a flange extending around a plurality of sides thereof so that the flange can be abuttingly disposed on a person's clothing article or a person's skin to thereby create a pocket by allowing access through an open end thereof along a location having no adhesive.
7 . A detachable pocket as defined in claim 6 , wherein the detachable pocket has a flap portion disposed on an open end of the detachable pocket, the flap portion capable of being folded to thereby close the open end of the detachable pocket.
8 . A detachable pocket as defined in claim 1 , wherein the pocket layer is adapted to attach to one or more of: (a) a person's skin; and (b) an article of clothing, the detachable pocket further comprising an adhesive layer disposed on a portion of the flange substantially parallel to the pocket layer and a removable non-stick backing positioned to cover the adhesive layer.
9 . A detachable pocket as defined in claim 1 , wherein the flange is adapted to attach to one or more of: (a) a person's skin; and (b) an article of clothing, the detachable pocket further comprising an adhesive layer disposed on a portion of the flange substantially parallel to the pocket layer and a removable non-stick backing positioned to cover the adhesive layer.
10 . A detachable pocket as defined in claim 2 , wherein the pocket body is attached to the clothing article using a two-sided adhesive strip having a shape that is generally the same as a shape of the flange.
11 . A detachable pocket comprising a pocket body having a pocket layer that forms a portion of the pocket body and being adapted to adhere to a surface with an adhesive material present on the pocket body, the pocket layer being a unitary pocket layer of substantially the same and readily disposable material throughout the pocket body, the unitary pocket layer having the adhesive material present along two or more edges thereof for adhering to a surface.
12 . A detachable pocket as defined in claim 11 , wherein the unitary pocket layer comprises a first pocket layer, and wherein the pocket body has a second layer having adhesive on a surface opposite to an inner surface of the first pocket layer and adapted to be adhered to one or more of: (a) an article of clothing; (b) a person's skin; and (c) both an article of clothing and a person's skin.
13 . A detachable pocket as defined in claim 11 , wherein the pocket body has a substantially rectangular shape and has a closed end, wherein pocket body has a width that measures less than a length thereof, and wherein the pocket body has decorative material associated therewith so that when the detachable pocket is positioned on a wearer the decorative material is readily viewable by a wearer and others when the detachable pocket is attached to an inner surface and extends beyond peripheries of the inner surface.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
