Abstract

The invention provides polymorphs of Saxagliptin hydrochloride, processes for preparing polymorphs of Saxagliptin hydrochloride, and pharmaceutical compositions of polymorphs of Saxagliptin hydrochloride.

         20 . The amorphous Saxagliptin hydrochloride of  claim 19 , characterized by an X-ray powder diffraction pattern substantially as depicted in  FIG. 17 . 
     
     
         21 . A pharmaceutical composition comprising the amorphous Saxagliptin hydrochloride according to any one of  claims 19  and  20 , and at least one pharmaceutically acceptable excipient. 
     
     
         22 . A method of treating a patient suffering from type 2 diabetes, comprising administering a pharmaceutical composition according to  claim 21 .
