Abstract
Various features and processes related to document collaboration are disclosed. In some implementations, animations are presented when updating a local document display to reflect changes made to the document at a remote device. In some implementations, a user can selectively highlight changes made by collaborators in a document. In some implementations, a user can select an identifier associated with another user to display a portion of a document that includes the other user's cursor location. In some implementations, text in document chat sessions can be automatically converted into hyperlinks which, when selected, cause a document editor to perform an operation.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A method comprising:
displaying a document on first device; receiving information describing a cursor location within the document, the cursor location associated with a first input provided at a second device; receiving a second input at the first device; and in response to the second input, modifying the display of the document at the first device to present a portion of the document that includes the cursor location.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the document is stored on a third device that is not the first device and is not the second device.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the cursor location corresponds to a location within the document that is being edited at the second device.
4 . A method comprising:
displaying a document on a first device; displaying users who are currently accessing the document; receiving a selection of at least one of the users; and in response to receiving the selection, modifying the display of the document to present a portion of the document that includes a location of a cursor corresponding to the selected user.
5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the location of the cursor corresponds to input provided by the selected user at a second device.
6 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium including one or more sequences of instructions which, when executed by one or more processors, causes:
displaying a document on first device; receiving information describing a cursor location within the document, the cursor location associated with a first input provided at a second device; receiving a second input at the first device; and in response to the second input, modifying the display of the document at the first device to present a portion of the document that includes the cursor location.
7 . The computer-readable medium of claim 6 , wherein the document is stored on a third device that is not the first device and is not the second device.
8 . The computer-readable medium of claim 6 , wherein the cursor location corresponds to a location within the document that is being edited at the second device.
9 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium including one or more sequences of instructions which, when executed by one or more processors, causes:
displaying a document on a first device; displaying users who are currently accessing the document; receiving a selection of at least one of the users; and in response to receiving the selection, modifying the display of the document to present a portion of the document that includes a location of a cursor corresponding to the selected user.
10 . The computer-readable medium of claim 9 , wherein the location of the cursor corresponds to input provided by the selected user at a second device.
11 . A system comprising:
one or more processors; and a non-transitory computer-readable medium including one or more sequences of instructions which, when executed by the one or more processors, causes:
displaying a document on first device;
receiving information describing a cursor location within the document, the cursor location associated with a first input provided at a second device;
receiving a second input at the first device; and
in response to the second input, modifying the display of the document at the first device to present a portion of the document that includes the cursor location.
12 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the document is stored on a third device that is not the first device and is not the second device.
13 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the cursor location corresponds to a location within the document that is being edited at the second device.
14 . A system comprising:
one or more processors; and a non-transitory computer-readable medium including one or more sequences of instructions which, when executed by the one or more processors, causes:
displaying a document on a first device;
displaying users who are currently accessing the document;
receiving a selection of at least one of the users; and
in response to receiving the selection, modifying the display of the document to present a portion of the document that includes a location of a cursor corresponding to the selected user.
15 . The system of claim 14 , wherein the location of the cursor corresponds to input provided by the selected user at a second device.Cited by (0)
