Wagering game system with docking stations
Abstract
This description describes wagering game systems that include docking stations. In one embodiment, the apparatus includes a presentation unit configured to present a wagering game and a docking controller configured to detect when the apparatus is docked with a docking station and to detect when the apparatus is undocked from the docking station. The apparatus can also include a docking port, the docking port including at least one of a dock power unit configured to receive power via the docking station and a dock communication unit configured to receive wagering game content associated with the wagering game, the dock communication unit configured to receive the wagering game content when the apparatus is docked with the docking station. The apparatus can also include a wireless communication unit configured to receive the wagering game content when the docking controller when the apparatus is undocked from the docking station.

2 . A method comprising:
presenting a first game element of a wagering game on a display of a community game station; transmitting a second game element of the wagering game to a personal display device of a player of the wagering game; and presenting the second game element on the personal display device of the player.
3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the first game element is common to more than one player of the wagering game on the display of the community game station.
4 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the second game element is specific to the player on the personal display device.
5 . The method of claim 2 , wherein transmitting a second game element of the wagering game from the community game station to the personal display device of the player includes transmitting the second game element from a video port of the community game station.
6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein transmitting the second game element from the video port of the community game station includes wirelessly transmitting the second game element.
7 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the personal display device is a video headset.
8 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising, receiving input, on the personal display device, associated with the wagering game.
9 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising, presenting non-wagering game content on the personal display device.
10 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising, presenting a third game element on a mobile device docked at the community game station.
11 . A system comprising:
a docking station including at least one video port and a community display; a personal display device; and a community game controller configured to:
conduct a community wagering game;
present a first game element of the community wagering game on the community display; and
transmit a second gaming element of the community wagering game from a video port of the at least one video port to the personal display device, the personal display device configured to display the second gaming element.
12 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the video port is configured to wireless transmit the second gaming element to the personal display device.
13 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the community game controller is configured to present a third game element of the community wagering game on the community display and transmit the third game element to the personal display device, the personal display device configured to display the third game element.
14 . The system of claim 11 ,
wherein the community game controller is configured to detect that a mobile device is docked at the docking station; and wherein the mobile device is configured to display the second gaming element of the community wagering game.
15 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the personal display device is a video headset.
16 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the personal display device is configured to be wearable by a player of the wagering game.
17 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the personal display device includes an input interface configured to receive input associated with the community wagering garlic.
18 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising instructions, which when executed by at least one processor, configure the at least one processor to:
initiate a community wagering game; present a first game element of the community wagering game on a display of a community game station; transmit a second game element of the wagering game from the community game station to a personal display device of a player of the community wagering game; and receive an input from the personal display device associated with the community wagering game.
19 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 18 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to:
transmit non-wagering game content to the personal display device.
20 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 18 , wherein the second game element is specific to a player of the community wagering game.
