Abstract

Disclosed are belt adjustment systems, particularly for wearing around a user's waist, that permit a continuum of belt loop sizes or a larger selection of belt loop sizes. The belt adjustment system includes an elongate belt member having a first end, a second end and a series of teeth positioned on an inner surface near the second end and a fixation member having first and second adjustment elements.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A belt system, comprising:
 an elongate belt member comprising a first end, a second end and an inner surface near the second end; and   a pad positionable on the inner surface, the pad comprising a series of printed markings on the inner surface near the first end the markings corresponding to a plurality of clothing waist sizes.   
     
     
         2 . The belt system of  claim 1 , wherein the belt member is customizable by cutting the first end to size according to a printed marking. 
     
     
         3 . The belt system of  claim 1 , further comprising a calibration marker on the inner surface, the calibration marker identifying a location where the pad should be positioned on the inner surface in order for the printed markings to correspond to a correct waist size. 
     
     
         4 . The belt system of  claim 3 , further comprising a belt buckle attached to the belt member, the belt buckle having a length that extends along a longitudinal length of the belt, wherein the position calibration marker corresponds to the length of the belt buckle. 
     
     
         5 . The belt system of  claim 1 , wherein the pad is removably positioned on the inner surface. 
     
     
         6 . The belt system of  claim 1 , wherein the pad is not detachable from the inner surface. 
     
     
         7 . The belt system of  claim 1 , wherein the printed markings comprise a printed scale
