Abstract

A method is disclosed for selecting targeted advertising data, the method including but not limited to determining an advertising data type for a single sign on subscriber; sending an image advertisement when the advertising data type is image; sending an audio advertisement when the advertising data type is audio; and sending a video advertisement when the advertising data type is video. A system and computer readable medium for performing the method are also disclosed.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A method for selecting targeted advertising data, the method comprising:
 determining an advertising data type for a single sign on subscriber;   sending an image advertisement when the advertising data type is image;   sending an audio advertisement when the advertising data type is audio; and   sending a video advertisement when the advertising data type is video.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , the method further comprising:
 determining an advertisement type for the single sign on subscriber;   sending a banner advertisement when the advertisement type is banner;   sending a pop-up advertisement when the advertisement type is pop-up; and   sending an icon advertisement when the advertisement type is icon.   
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1 , the method further comprising:
 monitoring each of a plurality of the single sign on subscriber's responses from a plurality of end user devices to each of a plurality of advertisements having a plurality of advertising data types in a plurality of data communications networks to obtain single sign on subscriber response tendency data for a plurality of single sign on subscriber end user devices associated with the single sign on subscriber, wherein the response tendency data is based on a historical log of the plurality of responses end user devices indicating a tendency to respond to one of a particular data type and a particular advertising type.   
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 3  further comprising:
 tracking the plurality of the end user's responses to for different advertising data types presented to the end user device, wherein the advertising types are indicated for advertising data and end user device types to which the single sign on subscriber responds; 
 selecting a data type, advertising type and end user device type for targeted advertising data based on the tracked response tendency data and current location of the single sign on subscriber, wherein the tracked response tendency data indicates the single sign on subscriber's response tendencies for an the single sign on identity to the different data types, advertising types for advertising data and end user device types to which the single sign on subscriber responds. 
 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 4 , the method further comprising:
 determining a single sign on subscriber end user device type from the response tendency data for the single sign on subscriber;   sending an advertisement to a television display when the end user device type is a television display;   sending an advertisement to a cell phone when the end user device type is cell phone; and   sending an advertisement to a personal computer when the end user device type is a personal computer.   
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 determining a characteristic for an single sign on subscriber end user device; and   adapting an advertising data format for the single sign on subscriber end user device to match the characteristic of the single sign on end user device.   
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 6 , wherein the end user device is selected based on the end user device response tendency data indicating an end user device type to which the single sign on subscriber tends to respond. 
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 1 , comprising:
 sending targeted advertising data having a data type selected based on a single sign on end user d from a single sign on subscriber advertising profile.   
     
     
         9 . A system for selecting targeted advertising, the system comprising:
 a processor in data communication with a tangible non-transitory computer readable storage medium; and   a computer program stored in the tangible non-transitory computer readable storage medium for execution by the processor, the computer program comprising:   instructions to determine an advertising data type for a single sign on subscriber;   instructions to send an image advertisement when the advertising data type is image;   instructions to send an audio advertisement when the advertising data type is audio; and   instructions to send a video advertisement when the advertising data type is video.   
     
     
         10 . The system of  claim 9 , the computer program further comprising:
 instructions to determine an advertisement type for the single sign on subscriber;   instructions to send a banner advertisement when the advertisement type is banner;   instruction to send a pop-up advertisement when the advertisement type is pop-up; and   instructions to send an icon advertisement when the advertisement type is icon.   
     
     
         11 . The system of  claim 9 , the computer program further comprising:
 instructions to monitor each of a plurality of the single sign on subscriber's responses from a plurality of end user devices to each of a plurality of advertisements having a plurality of advertising data types in a plurality of data communications networks to obtain single sign on subscriber response tendency data for a plurality of single sign on subscriber end user devices associated with the single sign on subscriber, wherein the response tendency data is based on a historical log of the plurality of responses end user devices indicating a tendency to respond to one of a particular data type and a particular advertising type.   
     
     
         12 . The system of  claim 11 , the computer program further comprising:
 instructions to track the plurality of the end user's responses to for different advertising data types for advertising presented to the end user device, wherein the advertising types are for advertising data and end user device types to which the single sign on subscriber responds;   instructions to select a data type, advertising type and end user device type for targeted advertising data based on the tracked response tendency data and current location of the single sign on subscriber, wherein the tracked response tendency data indicates the single sign on subscriber's response tendencies for an the single sign on identity to the different data types, advertising types for advertising data and end user device types to which the single sign on subscriber responds.   
     
     
         13 . The system of  claim 12 , the computer program further comprising:
 instructions to determine a single sign on subscriber end user device type from the response tendency data for the single sign on subscriber;   instructions to send an advertisement to a television display when the end user device type is a television display;   instructions to send an advertisement to a cell phone when the end user device type is cell phone; and   instructions to send an advertisement to a personal computer when the end user device type is a personal computer.   
     
     
         14 . The system of  claim 9 , the computer program further comprising:
 instructions to determine a characteristic for an single sign on subscriber end user device; and   adapting an advertising data format for the single sign on subscriber end user device to match the characteristic of the single sign on end user device.   
     
     
         15 . The system of  claim 14 , wherein the end user device is selected based on the end user device response tendency data indicating an end user device type to which the single sign on subscriber tends to respond. 
     
     
         16 . The system of  claim 9 , the computer program further comprising
 instructions to send targeted advertising data having a data type selected based on a single sign on end user data type response tendency data from a single sign on subscriber advertising profile.   
     
     
         17 . A non-transitory computer readable storage medium containing a computer program for execution by the processor, the computer program comprising:
 instructions to determine an advertising data type for a single sign on subscriber;   instructions to send an image advertisement when the advertising data type is image;   instructions to send an audio advertisement when the advertising data type is audio; and   instructions to send a video advertisement when the advertising data type is video.   
     
     
         18 . The medium of  claim 17 , the computer program further comprising:
 instructions to determine an advertisement type for the single sign on subscriber;   instructions to send a banner advertisement when the advertisement type is banner;   instruction to send a pop-up advertisement when the advertisement type is pop-up; and   instructions to send an icon advertisement when the advertisement type is icon.   
     
     
         19 . The medium of  claim 16 , the computer program further comprising:
 instructions to monitor each of a plurality of the single sign on subscriber's responses from a plurality of end user devices to each of a plurality of advertisements having a plurality of advertising data types in a plurality of data communications networks to obtain single sign on subscriber response tendency data for a plurality of single sign on subscriber end user devices associated with the single sign on subscriber, wherein the response tendency data is based on a historical log of the plurality of responses end user devices indicating a tendency to respond to one of a particular data type and a particular advertising type.   
     
     
         20 . The medium of  claim 16 , the computer program further comprising:
 instructions to track the plurality of the end user's responses to for different advertising data types presented to the end user device, wherein the advertising types are for advertising data and end user device types to which the single sign on subscriber responds.
