Purine analogs

Abstract

The present invention provides a new patentable class of purine analog compounds, as well as compositions and methods of using them, for example, to prevent or treat various diseases and disorders inhuman and non-human animals.

What is claimed: 
     
         1 . A composition comprising a conjugate, which conjugate comprises a lipid and a compound of Formula 1: 
       
         
           
           
               
               
           
         
       
       wherein:
 X is nitrogen; 
 ( - - - ) is an optional double bond; wherein:
 when N==C is a double bond, Q 2  is not present; 
 when C==Q 1  is a double bond, Q 1  is O; and 
 
 when C==Q 1  is a single bond, Q 1  is hydroxyl or alkoxy; 
 Z is NH; 
 Q 2  is hydrogen; 
 Q 3  is substituted or unsubstituted heteroalkyl; 
 Q 4  is hydrogen; 
 R 2  is a moiety selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, a substituted or unsubstituted heteroalkyl, OY 6 , SY 6 , and NY 6 Y 7 , wherein Y 6  and Y 7  are each independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, a substituted or unsubstituted heteroalkyl, a substituted or unsubstituted aryl, and a substituted or unsubstituted heteroaryl; and 
 n is 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4. 
 
     
     
         2 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein Q 3  of the compound of Formula 1 is a substituted or unsubstituted heterocycle. 
     
     
         3 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein Q 3  of the compound of Formula 1 is a substituted or unsubstituted heteroaryl. 
     
     
         4 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein N==C of the compound of Formula 1 is a double bond and Q 2  is not present. 
     
     
         5 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein C==Q 1  of the compound of Formula 1 is a single bond and Q 1  is hydroxy. 
     
     
         6 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein R 2  of the compound of Formula 1 is OY 6 . 
     
     
         7 . The composition of  claim 6 , wherein Y 6  is an unsubstituted alkyl. 
     
     
         8 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein n of the compound of Formula 1 is 1. 
     
     
         9 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein N==C of the compound of Formula 1 is a double bond, Q 2  is not present, C==Q 1  is a single bond, Q 1  is hydroxyl, R 2  is OY 6  and n is 1.
