Remote controller supporting system and method for handling event in web environment

Abstract

Provided is a system and method that may perform various operations on a website according to combinations of buttons on a remote controller. A system for supporting a remote controller may include: a profile storage unit to store a plurality of profiles containing functions of the remote controller and information associated with the functions of the remote controller; a receiver to receive an input signal from the remote controller, and to interpret an event of the input signal based on a profile corresponding to the remote controller; and a presentation unit to access a web server, to transform, to a predetermined behavior, at least one event interpreted by the receiver, and to request the web server for an operation corresponding to the behavior.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A system for supporting a remote controller, the system comprising,
 at least one processing circuit configured and arranged to:   identify an event by analyzing an input signal of the remote controller;   determine a behavior to match with the event, from a behavior list containing a plurality of behaviors to be presented in the web site;   request the web server for an operation corresponding to the determined behavior.   
     
     
         2 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the at least one processing circuit analyzes the input signal based on profile related to functions of the remote controller. 
     
     
         3 . The system of  claim 2 , wherein the profiles is updated by the new profile, and the new profile is downloaded from an external storage. 
     
     
         4 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the at least one processing circuit analyzes the event related to a type or a sequence set with respect to input signal of remote controller. 
     
     
         5 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the event is related to the number of times be pushed a button of the remote controller by the user. 
     
     
         6 . A system for supporting a remote controller, the system comprising,
 at least one processing circuit configured and arranged to:   determine a behavior by combining at least one event related to input signal of remote controller; and   transmit an operation corresponding to the behavior to the web server.   
     
     
         7 . The system of  claim 6 , the at least one event is determined by analyzing an input signal of remote controller based on profile related to functions of the remote controller 
     
     
         8 . The system of  claim 6 , wherein the event is determined to a type or a sequence set with respect to input signal of remote controller. 
     
     
         9 . The system of  claim 6 , wherein the event is determined to the number of times be pushed a button of the remote controller by the user. 
     
     
         10 . A method for supporting a remote controller, the method comprising:
 identifying an event by analyzing an input signal of the remote controller;   determining a behavior to match with the event, from a behavior list containing a plurality of behaviors to be presented in the web site;   requesting the web server for an operation corresponding to the determined behavior.   
     
     
         11 . The method of  claim 10 , wherein the identifying analyzes the input signal based on profile related to functions of the remote controller. 
     
     
         12 . The method of  claim 11 , wherein the profiles is updated by the new profile, and the new profile is downloaded from an external storage. 
     
     
         13 . The method of  claim 10 , wherein the identifying analyzes the event related to a type or a sequence set with respect to input signal of remote controller. 
     
     
         14 . The method of  claim 10 , wherein the event is related to the number of times be pushed a button of the remote controller by the user. 
     
     
         15 . A method for supporting a remote controller, the method comprising:
 determining a behavior by combining at least one event related to input signal of remote controller; and   transmitting an operation corresponding to the behavior to the web server.   
     
     
         16 . The method of  claim 15 , the at least one event is determined by analyzing an input signal of remote controller based on profile related to functions of the remote controller 
     
     
         17 . The method of  claim 15 , wherein the event is determined to a type or a sequence set with respect to input signal of remote controller. 
     
     
         18 . The method of  claim 15 , wherein the event is determined to the number of times be pushed a button of the remote controller by the user.
