Abstract

Pharmaceutical-grade compounds containing cis-2-methylspiro(1,3-oxathiolane-5,3′)quinuclidine having a purity >99.0% by HPLC with less than 0.5% of trans-2-methylspiro(1,3-oxathiolane-5,3′)quinuclidine are provided.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A compound containing cis-2-methylspiro(1,3-oxathiolane-5,3′)quinuclidine having a purity &gt;99.0% by HPLC with less than 0.5% of trans-2-methylspiro(1,3-oxathiolane-5,3′)quinuclidine. 
     
     
         2 . The compound according to  claim 1  wherein the cis-2-methylspiro(1,3-oxathiolane-5,3′)quinuclidine is a hydrochloride or hydrate form thereof. 
     
     
         3 . The compound according to  claim 1  wherein the cis-2-methylspiro(1,3-oxathiolane-5,3′)quinuclidine is in the form of a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or organic or inorganic acid addition salt thereof.
