Abstract

Embodiments of the present invention provide a system, method, and program product to provide a user creating an electronic message one or more alerts related to the content and addressees of the electronic message. A computer identifies the one or more addressees of the electronic message. The computer determines one or more alerts associated with each of the identified one or more addressees. The computer displays the alerts in a manner that each step is performed prior to the computer transmitting the electronic message for delivery to one or more addressees.

Claims

What is claimed is:

1 . A method for providing to a user creating an electronic message on a device with a user interface one or more alerts related to the content and addressees of the electronic message, the method comprising the steps of:
a computer identifying the one or more addressees of the electronic message; the computer determining one or more alerts associated with each of the identified one or more addressees; and the computer displaying the one or more alerts on the user interface.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein each step is performed prior to the computer transmitting the electronic message for delivery to the one or more addressees.

3 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising the steps of:
the computer identifying the content of the electronic message; and the computer determining one or more alerts associated with each of the identified one or more addresses.

4 . The method of claim 3 , further comprising the steps of:
the computer identifying the content of one or more electronic messages stored in a storage device to acquire text data of one or more sentences of the stored electronic messages sent to the user from one or more addressees; the computer determining which of the one or more sentences are questions and which of the one or more sentences are non-questions within the acquired text data of stored electronic messages sent to the user from one or more addressees; the computer storing the one or more sentences into the database based on whether the one or more sentences are questions or non-question sentences; the computer identifying the content of the electronic message to acquire text data of the one or more sentences of the electronic message; the computer determining which of the one or more sentences of the electronic message are questions and which of the one or more sentences are non-questions within the acquired text data; and the computer compares the one or more non-question sentences of the electronic message with the stored one or more question sentences to determine if all of stored questions of the addressee are answered.

5 . The method of claim 4 , further comprising the step of:
the computer displays the one or more alerts on the display that includes a list of open questions if one or more non-question sentences are not answered.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the electronic message is selected from the group consisting of: an e-mail, an instant message, a MMS, a SMS, and a blog post.

7 . A computer program product for providing to a user creating an electronic message on a device with a user interface one or more alerts related to the content and addressees of the electronic message, the computer program product comprising:
one or more computer-readable, tangible storage devices and program instructions stored on at least one of the one or more storage devices, the program instructions comprising; program instructions to identify the one or more addressees of the electronic message; program instructions to determine one or more alerts associated with each of the identified one or more addressees; and program instructions to display the one or more alerts on the user interface.

8 . The computer program product of claim 7 , wherein the program instructions to each step is performed prior to the computer transmitting the electronic message for delivery to the one or more addressees.

9 . The computer program product of claim 7 , further comprising program instructions, stored on at least one of the one or more storage devices, to identify the content of the electronic message; and
program instructions to determine one or more alerts associated with each of the identified one or more addresses.

         10 . The computer program product of  claim 9 , further comprising program instructions, stored on at least one of the one or more storage devices, to identify the content of one or more electronic messages stored in a storage device to acquire text data of one or more sentences of the stored electronic messages sent to the user from one or more addressees;
program instructions to determine which of the one or more sentences are questions and which of the one or more sentences are non-questions within the acquired text data of stored electronic messages sent to the user from one or more addressees; program instructions to store the one or more sentences into the database based on whether the one or more sentences are questions or non-question sentences; program instructions to identify the content of the electronic message to acquire text data of the one or more sentences of the electronic message; program instructions to determine which of the one or more sentences of the electronic message are questions and which of the one or more sentences are non-questions within the acquired text data; and program instructions to compare the one or more non-question sentences of the electronic message with the stored one or more question sentences to determine if all of stored questions of the addressee are answered.

11 . The computer program product of claim 10 , further comprising program instructions, stored on at least one of the one or more storage devices, to display the one or more alerts on the display that includes a list of open questions if one or more non-question sentences are not answered.

12 . The computer program product of claim 7 , wherein the electronic message is selected from the group consisting of: an e-mail, an instant message, a MMS, a SMS, and a blog post.

13 . A computer system for providing to a user creating an electronic message on a device with a user interface one or more alerts related to the content and addressees of the electronic message, the computer system comprising:
one or more processors, one or more computer-readable memories and one or more computer-readable tangible storage devices; program instructions, stored on at least one of the one or more storage devices for execution by at least one of the one or more processors via at least one of the one or more memories, to identify the one or more addressees of the electronic message; program instructions, stored on at least one of the one or more storage devices for execution by at least one of the one or more processors via at least one of the one or more memories, to determine one or more alerts associated with each of the identified one or more addressees; and program instructions, stored on at least one of the one or more storage devices for execution by at least one of the one or more processors via at least one of the one or more memories, to display the one or more alerts on the user interface.
