Abstract

Floor tile having objectionable particulate matter therein, is removed from a permanent substrate to which it is adhered by placing thereon a soy-based solvent and retaining the solvent in place for at least 36 hours. After this time period, all adhesion is released and the floor tile physically removed without residual adhesion or breakage thereof.

I claim: 
     
         1 . A process for removal of floor tile having embedded therein harmful particulate matter, comprising the steps of:
 Applying to said floor tile, a soy-based solvent so as to substantially and completely coat said floor tile with said solvent;   Permitting said solvent to be retained in place for at least 36 hours; and   Physically removing said floor tile without any residual adhesion to its substrate.
