Abstract

According to an embodiment, provided is a communication device that performs communications of an image and audio. The communication device includes: a storage unit that stores therein arrangement information for specifying a display scheme for the image; an arrangement-information setting unit that sets arrangement information in the storage unit; and a display control unit that refers to the arrangement information and causes a plurality of display devices to display the image. The display control unit causes a first display device to display captured images of a local point and a remote point and causes a second display device to display an image supplied from an image supply device of the local point or the remote point.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A communication device that performs communications of an image and audio, the communication device comprising:
 a storage unit that stores therein arrangement information for specifying a display scheme for the image;   an arrangement-information setting unit that sets arrangement information in the storage unit; and   a display control unit that refers to the arrangement information and causes a plurality of display devices to display the image, wherein   the display control unit
 causes a first display device to display captured images of a local point and a remote point and 
 causes a second display device to display an image supplied from an image supply device of the local point or the remote point. 
   
     
     
         2 . The communication device according to  claim 1 , further comprising a display-device detecting unit that detects such a display device that is in an electrified state. 
     
     
         3 . The communication device according to  claim 2 , wherein the display-device detecting unit detects an electrified state of the display device at start-up of or after start-up of the communication device. 
     
     
         4 . A communication system comprising:
 a communication device that performs communications of an image and audio; and   an image supply device that supplies an image to the communication device, wherein   the communication device comprises:
 a storage unit that stores therein arrangement information for specifying a display scheme for an image; 
 an arrangement-information setting unit that sets arrangement information in the storage unit; and 
 a display control unit that refers to the arrangement information and causes a plurality of display devices to display the image, and 
   the display control unit
 causes a first display device to display captured images of a local point and a remote point and 
 causes a second display device to display an image supplied from the image supply device of the local point or the remote point. 
   
     
     
         5 . The communication system according to  claim 4 , wherein the communication device further comprises a display-device detecting unit that detects such a display device that is in an electrified state. 
     
     
         6 . The communication system according to  claim 5 , wherein the display-device detecting unit detects an electrified state of the display device at start-up of or after start-up of the communication device. 
     
     
         7 . A computer program product comprising a non-transitory computer usable medium having computer readable program codes embodied in the medium that, when executed, causes a communication device to perform a communication method of an image and audio comprising:
 setting arrangement information for specifying a display scheme for an image into a storage unit; and   referring to the arrangement information,
 causing a first display device to display captured images of a local point and a remote point, and 
 causing a second display device to display an image supplied from an image supply device of the local point or the remote point. 
   
     
     
         8 . The computer program product according to  claim 7 ,
 wherein the communication method further causing the communication device to perform detecting a display device that is in an electrified state.   
     
     
         9 . The computer program according to  claim 8 ,
 wherein the detecting of a display device that is in an electrified state is performed at start-up of or after start-up of the communication device.
