Abstract

It is provided a feeler ( 1 ) for workpieces ( 40 ) being machined comprising a rocking arm ( 20 ) adapted to feel the workpiece ( 40 ), a first sensor ( 31 ) adapted to measure the position of the rocking arm ( 20 ) and at least one additional sensor ( 32 ) operatively connected to the rocking arm ( 20 ) and adapted to detect external perturbations acting on the feeler ( 1 ).

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A feeler for workpieces being machined, comprising a rocking arm adapted to feel said workpiece and a first sensor adapted to measure the position of said rocking arm; and at least one additional sensor operatively connected to said rocking arm and adapted to detect external perturbations acting on said feeler.

2 . The feeler as claimed in the preceding claim 1 , wherein said additional sensor ( 32 ) is a piezoelectric sensor.

3 . The feeler as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said additional sensor is a piezoresistive sensor.

4 . The feeler as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said first sensor is a sensor of the LVDT type.

5 . The feeler as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said additional sensor is positioned along said rocking arm.

6 . A workpiece measuring device comprising at least one of said feelers according to claim 1 and a supporting structure to which said feelers are secured.

7 . The measuring device as claimed in the preceding claim 6 , wherein said additional sensor is positioned between said feelers and said supporting structure.

8 . The measuring device as claimed in claim 7 , comprising two of said feelers ( 1 ) that are mutually opposite and are adapted to measure a diameter.

         9 . A chip-removal machine tool comprising a measuring device as claimed in claim 7 .

10 . The machine tool as claimed in claim 9 , consisting of a grinding wheel.
