Incident Communication System

Abstract

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium are presented, for providing incident notifications. The systems and processes disclosed here automatically generate and send notifications relating to an incident in accordance with an enterprise's business rules and provide real time reporting of all communications relating to the incident.

         18 . A method performed by a data processing apparatus, the method comprising:
 receiving information about an incident affecting operations of an enterprise, wherein the received information comprises at least an incident type, an incident location and an incident severity;   generating, based on mapping the received information about the incident to information provided by the enterprise, an incident notification including a message and a notification delivery profile; and   sending the generated incident notification to responders selected based on the mapping, wherein each of the responders has a contractual arrangement with the enterprise.   
     
     
         19 . A computer storage medium encoded with a computer program, the program comprising instructions that when executed by data processing apparatus cause the data processing apparatus to perform operations comprising:
 receiving information about an incident affecting operations of an enterprise, wherein the received information comprises at least an incident type, an incident location and an incident severity;   generating, based on mapping the received information about the incident to information provided by the enterprise, an incident notification including a message and a notification delivery profile; and   sending the generated incident notification to responders selected based on the mapping, wherein each of the responders has a contractual arrangement with the enterprise.   
     
     
         20 . A system comprising:
 a user device to enter information describing an incident;   a storage device to store information provided by an enterprise; and   one or more computer systems operable to interact with the user device and with the storage device, the one or more computer systems configured to perform operations including:
 receive information about an incident affecting operations of the enterprise, wherein the received information comprises at least an incident type, an incident location and an incident severity; 
 generate, based on mapping the received information about the incident to the information provided by the enterprise, an incident notification including a message and a notification delivery profile; 
 select one or more responders based on the generated mapping; and 
 send the generated incident notification to the selected responders. 
   
     
     
         21 . The system of  claim 20 , wherein the one or more computer systems comprise a server operable to interact with the device through a data communication network, and the device is operable to interact with the server as a client. 
     
     
         22 . The system of  claim 21 , wherein the device comprises a personal computer running a web browser. 
     
     
         23 . The system of  claim 20 , wherein the one or more computer systems consist of one computer, the device is a user interface device, and the one computer comprises the user interface device. 
     
     
         24 . The system of  claim 20 , wherein each of the responders has a contractual arrangement with the enterprise.
