Abstract

Embodiments of the invention are directed to a computer-implemented system and method for facilitating electronic market participation of traders. The algorithmic trading management system may comprise an algorithm and/or sequence usage and construction module providing conditional user interface features for allowing traders to construct algorithms or sequences to structure trading orders. The system may additionally include sequence modification components for allowing traders to modify algorithms collected from external sources in order to customize trading orders. The system may further include operator intervention tools for allowing traders to manually influence sequence execution through a user interface.

         34 . An algorithmic trading management computer system for facilitating electronic market participation of traders, the algorithmic trading management system comprising:
 a sequence construction module, the sequence construction module causing at least one computer processor to construct trading sequences having multiple parameters, wherein the construct trading sequences are processed by least one computer processor to generate trading orders, the sequence construction module comprising:
 a time control engine, the time control engine controlling the at least one computer processor to receive trader input to regulate time parameters of an order generated by the algorithmic trading management system; 
 a price control engine, the price control engine controlling the at least one computer processor to receive trader input to regulate price parameters of the order generated by the algorithmic trading management system; 
 an order control engine, the order control engine controlling the at least one computer processor to receive trader input to regulate order parameters of the order generated by the algorithmic trading management system; and 
   monitoring components for monitoring, using the at least one computer processor, external conditions related to the multiple parameters contained within the trading sequences.   
     
     
         35 . The computer system of  claim 34 , further comprising a field control engine for allowing price, time, and order conditions to be compared. 
     
     
         36 . The computer system of  claim 35 , further comprising sequence modification components for allowing traders to modify a sequence of algorithms collected from external sources in order to customize trading orders through a computer user interface. 
     
     
         37 . The computer system of  claim 35 , further comprising operator intervention tools for allowing traders to manually influence sequence execution through the computer user interface. 
     
     
         38 . The computer system of  claim 36 , further comprising a sequence control engine for automatically displaying a selected sequence of determined time, price, and order parameters. 
     
     
         39 . The computer system of  claim 38 , wherein the sequence control engine provides a sequencing grid on the computer user interface for enabling the traders to view the selected sequence. 
     
     
         40 . The computer system of  claim 39 , wherein the time control engine, price control engine, field control engine, and order control engine are represented by a corresponding time node, price node, field node, and order node on the computer user interface. 
     
     
         41 . The computer system of  claim 40 , wherein the time node, price node, field node, and order node are configured to be moved to the sequencing grid for use in the selected sequence. 
     
     
         42 . The computer system of  claim 37 , wherein the operator intervention tools are configured to provide multiple operators on the computer user interface including at least one of a stop operator, a pause operator, a shotgun operator, a variable operator, and a prompt operator. 
     
     
         43 . The computer system of  claim 36 , further comprising an algorithm collection module for providing selectable algorithms and destinations on the computer user interface. 
     
     
         44 . A method for facilitating electronic market participation of traders, the method comprising the steps of:
 causing at least one computer processor to construct trading sequences having time parameters, price parameters and order parameters;   processing the constructed trading sequences to generate trading orders;   receiving trader input to regulate time parameters of an order generated by the algorithmic trading management system   receiving trader input to regulate price parameters of the order generated by the algorithmic trading management system;   receiving trader input to regulate order parameters of the order generated by the algorithmic trading management system; and   monitoring, using the at least one computer processor, external conditions related to the multiple parameters contained within the trading sequences.   
     
     
         45 . The method of  claim 44 , further comprising the step of comparing the price, time, and order conditions. 
     
     
         46 . The method of  claim 45 , further comprising the step of modifying a sequence of algorithms collected from external sources in order to customize trading orders through a computer user interface. 
     
     
         47 . The method of  claim 45 , further comprising the step of allowing traders to manually influence sequence execution through the computer user interface. 
     
     
         48 . The method of  claim 46 , further comprising the step of automatically displaying a selected sequence of determined time, price, and order parameters. 
     
     
         49 . The method of  claim 48 , further comprising the step of providing a sequencing grid on the computer user interface for enabling the traders to view the selected sequence.

The computer system of  claim 49 , wherein regulating of the time parameters, regulating of the price parameters, comparing of the fields, and regulating of the order parameters are represented by a corresponding time node, price node, field node, and order node on the computer user interface. 
     
     
         51 . The computer system of  claim 50 , wherein the time node, price node, field node, and order node are configured to be moved to the sequencing grid for use in the selected sequence. 
     
     
         52 . The method of  claim 47 , further comprising the step of providing multiple operators on the computer user interface including at least one of a stop operator, a pause operator, a shotgun operator, a variable operator, and a prompt operator. 
     
     
         53 . The method of  claim 46 , further comprising the step of providing selectable algorithms and destinations on the computer user interface. 
     
     
         54 . An algorithmic trading management system for facilitating electronic market participation of traders, the algorithmic trading management system comprising:
 a sequence construction module, the sequence construction module causing at least one computer processor to construct trading sequences having multiple parameters, wherein the construct trading sequences are processed to execute trading orders, the sequence construction module comprising:
 a time control engine for receiving trader input to regulate time parameters of an order generated by the algorithmic trading management system, wherein the time control engine is controlled by a time node on a computer user interface; 
 a price control engine for receiving trader input to regulate price parameters of the order generated by the algorithmic trading management system, wherein the price control engine is controlled by a price node on the computer user interface; 
 an order control engine for receiving trader input to regulate order parameters of the order generated by the algorithmic trading management system, wherein the order control engine is represented by an order node on the computer user interface; 
 a field control engine for allowing price, time, and order conditions to be compared, wherein the field control engine is represented by a field node on the computer user interface; and 
 a sequence control engine for automatically displaying a selected sequence of determined time, price, field and order parameters, wherein the sequence control engine is represented by a sequencing grid on the user interface for enabling traders to view the selected sequence; 
   an algorithm collection module for collecting, using the computer processing components, algorithms from external sources;   sequence modification components for allowing, using the computer processing components, traders to modify algorithms collected from external sources in order to customize the sequence through the computer user interface;   operator intervention tools for allowing, using the computer processing components, traders to manually influence algorithm execution through the computer user interface; and   monitoring components for monitoring, using the computer processing components, external conditions related to the multiple parameters contained within the sequence.   
     
     
         55 . A computer-implemented method for facilitating electronic market participation of traders, the method comprising:
 providing a sequence construction module, the sequence construction module comprising conditional engines allowing trader input of parameters related to an order to allow traders to produce a customized sequence using at least one computer processor;   collecting algorithms from external sources;   receiving trader modifications to the collected algorithms to create modified algorithms;   rendering, using the at least one computer processor, selected algorithms active within the customized sequence, wherein the selected algorithms are selected by traders from the collected algorithms and the modified algorithms;   processing, using the at least one compute processor, the customized sequence to execute at least one trading order; and   monitoring external conditions, using the at least one computer processor, in order to facilitate the execution of the at least one trading order in accordance with the customized sequence.   
     
     
         56 . The method of  claim 55 , wherein providing the sequence construction module comprises providing a time control engine for allowing a trader to determine time order parameters. 
     
     
         57 . The method of  claim 55 , wherein providing the sequence construction module comprises providing a price control engine for allowing a trader to determine price order parameters. 
     
     
         58 . The method of  claim 55 , wherein providing the sequence construction module comprises providing an order control engine for allowing a trader to determine details of an order, the details of an order including order parameters. 
     
     
         59 . The method of  claim 55 , wherein providing the sequence construction module comprises providing a time control engine, a price control engine, field control engine, and an order control engine for allowing a trader to customize and compare time, price, and order parameters. 
     
     
         60 . The method of  claim 59 , wherein providing the sequence construction module further comprises providing a sequence control engine for automatically displaying a selected sequence of determined time, price, and order parameters. 
     
     
         61 . The method of  claim 60 , further comprising providing a sequencing grid on a computer user interface for enabling the trader to view the selected sequence. 
     
     
         62 . The method of  claim 61 , further comprising representing the time control engine, price control engine, field control engine, and order control engine by a corresponding time node, price node, field node, and order node on the computer user interface. 
     
     
         63 . The method of  claim 61 , further comprising constructing the sequence based on movement of the corresponding nodes onto the sequencing grid. 
     
     
         64 . The method of  claim 61 , further comprising providing operator intervention tools configured to provide multiple operators on the computer user interface including at least one of a stop operator, a pause operator, a shotgun operator, a variable operator, and a prompt operator. 
     
     
         65 . The method of  claim 64 , wherein the shotgun operator provides for system access to multiple sources of liquidity simultaneously.
