Foldable chairs

Abstract

A foldable chair has front and rear legs are interactive by using pivotal units. After expansion, top ends of the rear leg are positioned to the rear lower end of the handles of a back cushion. It is stable and safe. After the chair is closed, the front leg is alternative arranged with the rear leg. After a plurality of chairs are closed and overlapped together, the volume for storing the chairs are greatly reduced and the overall height is reduced. In close state, the legs of the chairs are alternatively arranged with a stable and safe structure. In overlapping of a plurality of chairs, ground retainers of the chairs have the function of slide-proof so that a plurality of chairs can be overlapped stably. As a plurality of chairs are overlapped for storage, they will generate a horizontal resisting force so that the chairs are overlapped stably and safely.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A foldable chair, comprising:
 a back cushion having a cambered surface; each of two sides of the back cushion having a handle; a lower side of the handle having a positioning portion which is bent backwards so as to form with an acute angle so that a plurality of back cushions can be overlapped one by one; a front lower end of each handle having a hollow cylinder; the front end of the handle being further formed with an open space;   a seat cushion; a middle section of each of two lateral sides of the seat cushion having a pivotal hole; a rear end of each of the two lateral sides of the seat cushion being formed with a pivotal seat;   a front leg having a U shape structure with two extending rods; two distal ends of the front leg being inserted into the hollow cylinders of the back cushion by screwing operation; a middle section of each side rod of the front leg being pivotally connected to a respective pivotal hole of the seat cushion at a respective lateral side of the seat cushion so that the seat cushion can pivotally rotate around the pivotal hole of the seat cushion;   two pivotal units; each pivotal unit having two pivotal holes, a front pivotal hole and a rear pivotal hole, which are not arranged in the same plane;   the pivotal units being retained at two outer sides of the front leg by using screws to pass through the front pivotal holes so that the pivotal units can pivotally rotate around the front pivotal holes;   a rear leg having a U shape; each of the two distal ends of the rear leg being pivotal to the pivotal holes of the pivotal unit by screwing through the pivotal hole of the pivotal unit; a gap between two distal ends of the U shape rear leg being larger than that of the U shape front leg; a middle section of each lateral side of the rear leg being pivoted to the pivotal seat of the seat cushion; the pivotal seat at the rear side of the seat cushion being pivotally connected to a middle section of the rear leg so that the rear end of the seat cushion can pivotally rotate around the pivotal seat thereof.   
     
     
         2 . The foldable chair as claimed in  claim 1 , wherein a lower end of the front leg being installed with at least two ground retainers for reducing the friction between the front leg  1  and ground; a back side of each ground retainer being installed with a positioning unit. 
     
     
         3 . The foldable chair as claimed in  claim 1 , wherein a lower end of the rear leg being installed with at least two ground retainers for reducing the friction between the rear leg and ground; a back side of each ground retainer being installed with a positioning unit.
