Abstract

Derivatives of the peptide corresponding to the sequence RIHMVYSKRSGKPRGYAFIEY (SEQ ID NO: 1), pharmaceutical compositions, and methods of use thereof are provided.

A pharmaceutical composition comprising an effective amount of an isolated peptide having the amino acid sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO:1, wherein the peptide has at least one post-translational-type amino acid modification, or salt thereof, in combination with a pharmaceutically acceptable vehicle. 
     
     
         2 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the composition comprises at least 200 μg of the isolated peptide or salt thereof. 
     
     
         3 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the serine at position 10 of SEQ ID NO: 1 is phosphorylated. 
     
     
         4 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the serine at position 7 of SEQ ID NO: 1 is phosphorylated. 
     
     
         5 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the serine at position 7 and the serine at position 10 of SEQ ID NO: 1 are phosphorylated. 
     
     
         6 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the serine at position 10 of SEQ ID NO: 1 is phosphorylated, and the lysine in position 8 is acetylated. 
     
     
         7 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the serine at position 10 of SEQ ID NO: 1 is phosphorylated, and the lysine in position 12 is acetylated. 
     
     
         8 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the serine at position 10 of SEQ ID NO: 1 is phosphorylated, and the lysine at position 8 and the lysine at position 12 are acetylated.

         13 . The composition of  claim 11 , wherein the composition comprises at least 200 μg of the lyophilized isolated peptide or salt thereof. 
     
     
         14 . The composition of  claim 11 , wherein the serine at position 10 of SEQ ID NO: 1 is phosphorylated. 
     
     
         15 . The composition of  claim 11 , wherein the serine at position 7 of SEQ ID NO: 1 is phosphorylated. 
     
     
         16 . The composition of  claim 11 , wherein the serine at position 7 and the serine at position 10 of SEQ ID NO: 1 are phosphorylated

A pharmaceutical composition comprising in unitary dosage form at least 200 μg of a lyophilized isolated peptide having the amino acid sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO:1, wherein the peptide has at least one post-translational-type amino acid modification, or salt thereof. 
     
     
         18 . The composition of  claim 17 , wherein the serine at position 10 of SEQ ID NO: 1 is phosphorylated. 
     
     
         19 . The composition of  claim 17 , wherein the serine at position 7 of SEQ ID NO: 1 is phosphorylated.
