Use of gingerone or derivatives thereof for reducing or delaying the signs of skin ageing

Abstract

Use of gingerone or derivatives thereof for reducing or delaying the signs of skin ageing. The present invention relates to the cosmetic use of at least one compound of general formula (I): in which:—R 1 represents a methyl or ethyl radical;—R 2 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl or ethyl radical;—R 3 represents a linear C 1 -C 6 or branched C 3 -C 6 alkyl radical, or a linear C 2 -C 6 or branched C 3 -C 6 alkenyl radical; and—X represents =O or —OH, as an agent for reducing and/or delaying the signs of skin ageing.

1 . A method for reducing signs of skin aging, delaying signs of skin aging, or both,
 the method comprising applying a compound of general formula (I):   
       
         
           
           
               
               
           
         
         wherein: 
         R 1  is a methyl or ethyl radical; 
         R 2  is a hydrogen atom or a methyl or ethyl radical; 
         R 3  represents is a linear C 1 -C 6  or branched C 3 -C 6  alkyl radical, or a linear C 2 -C 6  or branched C 3 -C 6  alkenyl radical; and 
         X is =O or —OH, 
         as an agent, to the skin. 
       
     
     
         2 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein
 R 3  is a C 1 -C 6  linear alkyl.   
     
     
         3 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein the compound of general formula (I), alone or as a mixture, is at least one selected from the group consisting of: 
       
         
           
           
               
               
           
         
       
     
     
         4 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein the compound is gingerone or ethyl gingerone. 
     
     
         5 . The method according to  claim 1 , for combating signs of chronobiological ageing of an epidermis, photoinduced ageing of the epidermis, or both. 
     
     
         6 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein the signs of skin ageing are chosen from an appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, weakening, withering, thinning, dryness, or dull or non-radiant appearance, complexion, heterogeneous surface of the skin, or any combination thereof. 
     
     
         7 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein the compound is present, in a composition comprising a physiologically acceptable medium, in a content between 0.1% and 10% by weight relative to a total weight of the composition. 
     
     
         8 . The method according to   claim 7 , wherein the composition is suitable for topical application.
