Abstract

Methods for creating mortar-bed or other handmade tileable shower pan assemblies are disclosed. In one embodiment, the method comprises the steps of: procuring a pre-manufactured molded trench; integrally connecting a standard drain to the trench to form a one-piece trench and standard drain assembly; and installing a mortar-bed or other handmade shower pan in conjunction with the prefabricated trench and standard drain. A mortar-bed or other handmade tileable shower pan is also disclosed which, in one embodiment, comprises: a molded prefabricated trench; a standard drain attached to the trench subsequent to the manufacture of the trench to form a one-piece trench and standard drain assembly; the prefabricated trench and standard drain being incorporated into a mortar bed or other handmade tileable shower pan.

Claims

What is claimed is:

1 . A method for creating a mortar-bed or other handmade tileable shower pan assembly, comprising the steps of:
procuring a pre-manufactured molded trench; integrally connecting a standard drain to the trench to form a one-piece trench and standard drain assembly; and installing a mortar-bed or other handmade shower pan in conjunction with the prefabricated trench and standard drain.

2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
incorporating into said tileable shower pan one or more components selected from a group consisting of one or more sidewalls, one or more curbs, and one or more barrier free entrances.

3 . A mortar-bed or other handmade tileable shower pan comprising:
a molded prefabricated trench; a standard drain attached to the trench subsequent to the manufacture of the trench to form a one-piece trench and standard drain assembly; and the prefabricated trench and standard drain incorporated into a mortar bed or other handmade tileable shower pan.

4 . The shower pan of claim 3 , further comprising:
one or more components selected from a group consisting of one or more sidewalls, one or more curbs, and one or more barrier free entrances.

5 . A method for creating a mortar-bed or other handmade tileable shower pan, comprising the steps of:
providing a prefabricated trench having a standard drain which has been integrally attached thereto at the time of manufacture of the prefabricated trench; and installing a mortar-bed or other handmade tileable shower pan in conjunction with the prefabricated trench and integrally connected standard drain.

6 . The method of claim 5 , further comprising:
incorporating into said tileable shower pan one or more components selected from a group consisting of one or more sidewalls, one or more curbs, and one or more barrier free entrances.

7 . A mortar-bed or other handmade tileable shower pan, comprising:
a prefabricated trench having a standard drain which has been molded thereto at the time of manufacture of the prefabricated trench; and the prefabricated trench and integrally connected standard drain incorporated into a mortar-bed or other handmade tileable shower pan.

8 . The mortar-bed or other handmade tileable shower pan of claim 7 , further comprising:
one or more components selected from a group consisting of one or more sidewalls, one or more curbs, and one or more barrier free entrances being incorporated into said tileable shower pan.
