Abstract
A cosmetic or dermopharmaceutical composition including an extract of a plant belonging to the genus Buchholzia and at least one auxiliary and/or additive is provided. A method for the cosmetic treatment of the skin or scalp and a method for the treatment of skin inflammation includes administering to a patient in need thereof a composition including an effective amount of a plant extract from a plant belonging to the genus Buchholzia.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 20 . (canceled)
. A method for treatment of aged skin, comprising topically administering to the aged skin of a patient in need thereof a composition comprising: an extract of Buchholzia coriacea seeds in an amount effective to provide an anti-ageing effect, wherein said seed extract is obtained by extracting seeds of the Buchholzia coriacea plant with a polar solvent.
. The method according to claim 21 , wherein the composition is in the form of a tablet, dragee, capsule, juice, solution, or granule.
. The method of claim 21 , wherein the anti-ageing effect is selected from inhibiting of the synthesis of melanin, decreasing the effects of skin pigmentation, stimulating the growth and/or metabolism of human fibroblasts, providing a revitalizing or rejuvenating effect on stressed or tired skin, promoting the repair of aged and/or photoaged skin, providing an appeasing and anti-irritating effect against oxidative stress and pollutants, providing a protease inhibition effect, providing an antioxidant effect, and/or protecting against UV or IR radiation.
. The method of claim 21 , wherein the anti-ageing effect is an anti-wrinkle effect.
. The method of claim 21 , wherein the concentration of said extract is 0.001 weight-% to 25 weight-% based on the composition.
. The method of claim 21 , wherein the composition further comprises at least one auxiliary and/or additive.
. The method of claim 26 wherein the auxiliary and/or additive is selected from the group consisting of oil bodies, surfactants, emulsifiers, fats, waxes, pearlescent waxes, bodying agents, thickeners, superfatting agents, stabilizers, polymers, silicone compounds, lecithins, phospholipids, biogenic active ingredients, deodorants, antimicrobial agents, antiperspirants, film formers, antidandruff agents, swelling agents, insect repellents, hydrotropes, solubilizers, preservatives, perfume oils, dyes, and mixtures thereof.
. The method of claim 27 , wherein the concentration of the extract is 0.001 weight-% to 25 weight-% based on the composition.
. The method of claim 21 , wherein the composition is in the form of a cream, gel or lotion.
. The method of claim 21 , wherein the extract is obtained by a process comprising extracting the seeds with water at room temperature.
. The method of claim 30 , wherein the extract is obtained by a method further comprising separating liquid and solid fractions, and drying the extract.
. The method of claim 21 , wherein the extract is obtained by extracting the seeds with water at 80 to 85° C.
. The method of claim 32 , wherein the extract is obtained by a method further comprising separating liquid and solid fractions, and drying the extract.
. The method of claim 21 , wherein the extract is obtained by extracting the seeds with a mixture of alcohol and water.
. The method of claim 34 , wherein the extract is obtained by a method further comprising separating liquid and solid fractions, concentrating the liquid, and freeze-drying the extract.
. The method of claim 21 , wherein the extract is an extract of dehulled seeds.Cited by (0)
