Seat cushion assembly

Abstract

A vehicle seat cushion assembly includes a first material defining an outer seating surface. A second material sewn to the first material using first and second sewing lines disposed generally parallel to each other is disposed on an underside of the first material. A wadding material is disposed between the first and second materials and between the first and second sewing lines, and additional wadding material is disposed between the first and second materials adjacent to and not between the first and second sewing lines. The first and second materials are further sewn together using two additional sewing lines respectively disposed adjacent edges of the additional wadding material opposite the first and second sewing lines.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A vehicle seat cushion assembly comprising:
 a first material defining an outer seating surface;   a second material having a greater stretchability than a stretchability of the first material, the second material being attached to an underside of the first material; and   a wadding material disposed between the first and second materials.   
     
     
         2 . The vehicle seat cushion assembly of  claim 1 , further comprising a hook and loop fastener attached to an outer surface of the second material. 
     
     
         3 . The vehicle seat cushion assembly of  claim 1 , wherein the first material is leather and the second material is a woven tulle. 
     
     
         4 . The vehicle seat cushion assembly of  claim 1 , wherein the first and second materials have generally parallel perimeters with at least six generally linear segments. 
     
     
         5 . The vehicle seat cushion assembly of  claim 4 , wherein the perimeters of the first and second materials include at least two curved segments. 
     
     
         6 . A vehicle seat cushion assembly comprising:
 an outer seating surface comprising a leather material;   a backing comprising a material having a greater stretchability than a stretchability of the leather material, the backing being attached to an underside of the leather material; and   a wadding material disposed between the leather material and the backing.   
     
     
         7 . The vehicle seat cushion assembly of  claim 6 , wherein the leather material and the backing have generally parallel perimeters with at least six generally linear segments. 
     
     
         8 . The vehicle seat cushion assembly of  claim 7 , wherein the perimeters of the leather material and the backing include at least two curved segments. 
     
     
         9 . The vehicle seat cushion assembly of  claim 6 , further comprising a hook and loop fastener attached to an outer surface of the backing. 
     
     
         10 . The vehicle seat cushion assembly of  claim 6 , wherein the backing comprises a woven tulle.
