Abstract

The present application discloses a method of treating a disease that is treatable by therapeutic angiogenesis comprising administering to a needy subject an effective amount of a chimeric coiled coil molecule comprising a coiled-coil domain linked to a receptor binding domain of a ligand.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
. A coiled coil chimeric molecule comprising a coiled-coil domain linked to a receptor binding domain of a ligand.

. A method of treating an ischemic disease comprising administering to a person in need thereof an effective amount of the molecule according to claim 1 .

. The method according to claim 2 , wherein the coiled coil domain comprises a domain belonging to a protein belonging to matrix protein family, transcription factor family, growth factor family or secretory protein family.

. The method according to claim 3 , wherein the coiled coil domain is from cartilage matrix protein or cartilage oligomeric matrix protein.

. The method according to claim 2 , wherein the receptor binding domain binds to Tie1 or Tie2.

. The method according to claim 2 , wherein the ligand is a cytokine, hormone or growth factor.

. The method of claim 6 , wherein the ligand is angiopoietin-1.

. The method of claim 7 , wherein the chimeric coiled coil molecule is COMP-Ang1.

. The method according to claim 2 , wherein the ischemic disease is of the heart, limb, brain, penis, stomach or kidney.

. The method according to claim 2 , wherein the chimeric coiled coil molecule is administered in its protein form.

. The method according to claim 10 , wherein the protein is in form for topical administration.

. The method according to claim 2 , wherein the chimeric coiled coil molecule is administered in gene construct form within a delivery vehicle.

. The method according to claim 12 , wherein the delivery vehicle is a virus.

. The method according to claim 13 , wherein the delivery vehicle is adenovirus.

- 17 . (canceled)

. A method for treating vascular leakage comprising administering to a person in need thereof an effective amount of the molecule according to claim 1 .

. The method according to claim 18 , wherein the vascular leakage is due to sepsis, diabetic retinopathy, brain edema, excessive hemorrhagia, menorrhagia or nasal bleeding.

- 21 . (canceled)

. A method for treating myocardial infarction comprising administering to a person in need thereof an effective amount of the molecule according to claim 1 .
