Abstract
The present invention relates to methods for treating or preventing pulmonary hypertension, reducing mortality in a subject experiencing pulmonary hypertension, or inhibiting ADP-mediated vasoconstriction of pulmonary arteries in a subject, comprising administering to the subject an effective amount of a pharmaceutical composition comprising a reversible P2Y 12 receptor antagonist. Also provided are related medicaments, pharmaceutical compositions, and methods for preparing the medicaments.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A medicament comprising an effective amount of a reversible P2Y 12 receptor antagonist useful for treating or preventing pulmonary hypertension in a subject.
2 . A medicament comprising an effective amount of a reversible P2Y 12 receptor antagonist useful for reducing mortality in a subject experiencing pulmonary hypertension.
3 . A medicament comprising an effective amount of a reversible P2Y 12 receptor antagonist useful for inhibiting ADP-mediated vasoconstriction of pulmonary arteries in a subject.
4 . The medicament of claim 1 , wherein the reversible P2Y 12 receptor antagonist is a rapid acting antagonist.
5 . The medicament of claim 1 , wherein the reversible P2Y 12 receptor antagonist is cangrelor.
6 . The medicament of claim 5 , wherein the medicament comprises 0.1-100 mg/ml cangrelor.
7 . The medicament of claim 1 , further comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or diluent.
8 . The medicament of claim 1 , further comprising an active agent selected from the group consisting of pulmonary vasodilators, digoxin, diuretics, anticoagulants, diuretics, beta blockers, and ACE inhibitors.
9 . (canceled)
10 . The medicament of claim 1 , wherein the subject:
(i) has suffered a stroke or a myocardial infarction; (ii) has diabetes mellitus, hyperlipidemia, congestive heart failure, peripheral arterial disease (PAD), thrombosis in an artery or vein, a family history of coronary artery disease (CAD), or hypertension; or (iii) has undergone percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA), coronary intervention (PCI), or artery bypass graft (CABG).
11 - 20 . (canceled)
21 . The medicament of claim 2 , wherein the reversible P2Y 12 receptor antagonist is a rapid acting antagonist.
22 . The medicament of claim 2 , wherein the reversible P2Y 12 receptor antagonist is cangrelor.
23 . The medicament of claim 22 , wherein the medicament comprises 0.1-100 mg/ml cangrelor.
24 . The medicament of claim 2 , further comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or diluent.
25 . The medicament of claim 2 , further comprising an active agent selected from the group consisting of pulmonary vasodilators, digoxin, diuretics, anticoagulants, diuretics, beta blockers, and ACE inhibitors.
26 . The medicament of claim 2 , wherein the subject:
(i) has suffered a stroke or a myocardial infarction; (ii) has diabetes mellitus, hyperlipidemia, congestive heart failure, peripheral arterial disease (PAD), thrombosis in an artery or vein, or a family history of coronary artery disease (CAD); or (iii) has undergone percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA), coronary intervention (PCI), or artery bypass graft (CABG).
27 . The medicament of claim 3 , wherein the reversible P2Y 12 receptor antagonist is a rapid acting antagonist.
28 . The medicament of claim 3 , wherein the reversible P2Y 12 receptor antagonist is cangrelor.
29 . The medicament of claim 28 , wherein the medicament comprises 0.1-100 mg/ml cangrelor.
30 . The medicament of claim 3 , further comprising an active agent selected from the group consisting of pulmonary vasodilators, digoxin, diuretics, anticoagulants, diuretics, beta blockers, and ACE inhibitors.
31 . The medicament of claim 3 , wherein the subject:
(i) has suffered a stroke or a myocardial infarction; (ii) has diabetes mellitus, hyperlipidemia, congestive heart failure, peripheral arterial disease (PAD), thrombosis in an artery or vein, a family history of coronary artery disease (CAD), or hypertension; or (iii) has undergone percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA), coronary intervention (PCI), or artery bypass graft (CABG).Cited by (0)
