Abstract

A personal alert system and method are provided. The personal alert system may generate, for example, residence alerts, school alerts, finance alerts and/or public persona alerts.

1 . A system for personal alerts, comprising:
 a personal alert unit including,
 an analysis engine responsive to public data from one or more public data sources, the analysis engine operable to analyze the public data; 
 a store configured to stare the analyzed data; 
 an alert engine configurable by a user of the personal alert unit and operable to generate one or more alerts about a user based on the stored data and the analyzed data, 
   wherein the one or more alerts is caused by identifying mentions of people associated with the user in different public data exchange systems.   
     
     
         2 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the public data exchange system is the web, Facebook, Myspace, or LinkedIn. 
     
     
         3 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the public data exchange system a newspaper. 
     
     
         4 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the personal alert system is operable to assist the user in protecting their identity. 
     
     
         5 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the personal alert unit is one or more computer servers. 
     
     
         6 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the personal alert unit further comprises a web server that serves web pages to one or more computing devices that request information from the user. 
     
     
         7 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the personal alert unit further comprises a web server that serves web pages to one or more computing devices that provide information to the use of the computing device.
