Financial strentgh indication
Abstract
A method for providing an indication of financial strength includes receiving a financial indicator and a predetermined spending budget status from a user. The predetermined spending budget status is associated with a spending budget for the user that has at least one payment account. The financial indicator is then associated with the predetermined spending budget status. A payment request that includes one of the at least one payment accounts is then received from a merchant. A current spending budget status is then determined using the spending budget and the at least one payment account. The financial indicator is then sent to the merchant for provision to the user in response to the current spending budget status being included in the predetermined spending budget status.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A financial strength indication system, comprising:
a non-transitory memory storing financial strength indication information, wherein the financial strength indication information includes user account information associated with a user; one or more hardware processors coupled to the memory and operable to read instructions from the memory to perform the steps of:
associating a financial indicator and a predetermined spending budget status, wherein the predetermined spending budget status is related to a spending budget associated with at least one user payment account related to the user account information;
receiving a payment request to make a payment to a merchant from the user through a merchant payment terminal of the merchant over a network, wherein the payment request includes one of the at least one user payment accounts;
determining a current spending budget status using the spending budget and the at least one user payment account; and
sending the financial indicator over the network to the merchant payment terminal for display to the user on a display device coupled to the merchant payment terminal, wherein the financial indicator is sent in response to the current spending budget status being included in the predetermined spending budget status.
2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the financial indicator includes a visual financial indicator that was previously received from a user device and that is displayable on the display device coupled to the merchant payment terminal.
3 . The system of claim 2 , wherein the visual financial indicator includes a graphical indicator of the current spending budget status.
4 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the financial indicator includes an audio financial indicator that is playable on an audio system that is coupled to the merchant payment terminal.
5 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the receiving the financial indicator and the predetermined spending budget status includes receiving a plurality of financial indicators and predetermined spending budget statuses, wherein each financial indicator is different from the other financial indicators and is associated with a respective predetermined spending budget status, and each predetermined spending budget status is different from the other spending budget statuses.
6 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors are operable to read instructions from the memory to perform the steps of:
receiving user payment authorization from the user through the merchant payment terminal subsequent to the display of the financial indicator to the user.
7 . A method for providing an indication of financial strength, comprising:
receiving a financial indicator and a predetermined spending budget status from a user device over a network, wherein the predetermined spending budget status is associated in a database with a spending budget for a user having at least one payment account; associating the financial indicator with the predetermined spending budget status in the database; receiving a payment request to make a payment to a merchant from the user through a merchant point-of-sale device of the merchant over the network, wherein the payment request includes one of the at least one payment accounts; determining a current spending budget status using the spending budget and the at least one payment account; and sending the financial indicator over the network to the merchant point-of-sale device for provision to the user on a financial indicator provisioning device in response to the current spending budget status being included in the predetermined spending budget status.
8 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the financial indicator includes a visual financial indicator and the financial indicator provisioning device includes a display device coupled to the merchant point-of-sale device.
9 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the visual financial indicator includes a graphical indicator of the current spending budget status.
10 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the financial indicator includes an audio financial indicator and the financial indicator provisioning device includes an audio device coupled to the merchant point-of-sale device.
11 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the receiving the financial indicator includes recording a voice received over the network from the user device and storing it as the audio financial indicator.
12 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the receiving the financial indicator and the predetermined spending budget status includes receiving a plurality of financial indicators and predetermined spending budget statuses, wherein each financial indicator is different from the other financial indicators and is associated with a respective predetermined spending budget status, and each predetermined spending budget status is different from the other predetermined spending budget statuses.
13 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
receiving user payment authorization from user through the merchant point-of-sale device over the network subsequent to the provision of the financial indicator on the financial indicator provisioning device.
14 . A non-transitory machine-readable medium comprising a plurality of machine-readable instructions which, when executed by one or more processors, are adapted to cause the one or more processors to perform a method comprising:
associating a financial indicator with a predetermined spending budget status in a database, wherein the predetermined spending budget status is associated with a spending budget for a user having at least one payment account; receiving a payment request to make a payment to a merchant from a user through a merchant payment receiving device of the merchant over the network, wherein the payment request includes one of the at least one payment accounts; determining a current spending budget status using the spending budget and the at least one payment account; and sending the financial indicator over the network to the merchant payment receiving device for display to a user on a display device that is coupled to the merchant payment receiving device, wherein the financial indicator is sent in response to the current spending budget status being included in the predetermined spending budget status.
15 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 14 , wherein the financial indicator was previously received from a user device.
16 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the visual financial indicator includes a graphical indicator of the current spending budget status.
17 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 14 , wherein the financial indicator includes an audio financial indicator that is playable on an audio device that is coupled to the merchant payment receiving device.
18 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 17 , wherein the receiving the financial indicator includes recording a voice received over the network from a user device and storing it as the audio financial indicator.
19 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 14 , wherein the receiving the financial indicator and the predetermined spending budget status includes receiving a plurality of financial indicators and predetermined spending budget statuses, wherein each financial indicator is different from the other financial indicators and is associated with a respective predetermined spending budget status, and each predetermined spending budget status is different from the other spending budget statuses.
20 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 14 , wherein the method further comprises:
