Abstract
Systems and methods for advanced e-mail and messaging are disclosed. Profiles which include visual keys enable more efficient communications between users. Profiles may be pushed out to recipients or may be pulled in by recipients, with control over updated elements shared between the profile owner and the recipient. Additional capabilities include the ability to delete e-mails sent to a recipient regardless of when sent, extended subject line support to enable more efficient communications, and Improved display of threaded e-mail messages. Furthermore, features to reduce necessary communications bandwidth are also disclosed.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 20 . (canceled)
21 . A communication system that enables a user to send an electronic communication to a recipient and to recall the electronic communication even after recipient views the electronic communication, the system comprising:
a processor; and a non-transitory computer-readable medium coupled to the processor, including code that is executable by a processor, for implementing a method comprising:
responsive to receiving from a user a request to compose an electronic communication, enabling the user to specify content for the electronic communication and to specify a recipient of the electronic communication;
responsive to receiving from the user a request to send the electronic communication, sending the electronic communication by:
saving the electronic communication in a database;
linking the electronic communication to an account of the recipient; and
providing in the account of the recipient a link to the electronic communication;
enabling the recipient to select the link in the account of the recipient to view the electronic communication;
enabling the recipient to send the link but not the content of electronic communication to an outside account that is not associated with the communication system;
receiving from the user a request to recall the electronic communication;
deleting from the account of the recipient the link to the electronic communication; and
deleting from the database the content of the electronic communication.
22 . The communication system of claim 21 , wherein the electronic communication is one or more of an e-mail message, a short message service (SMS) message, or a mobile chat message.
23 . A communication system that enables a user recall an electronic communication previously sent to a recipient even if the recipient has already viewed the electronic communication, the system comprising:
a processor; and a non-transitory computer-readable medium coupled to the processor, including code that is executable by a processor, for implementing a method comprising:
receiving from a user a request to recall one or more electronic communications that the user previously sent to a recipient, the one or more electronic communications being located on a database and linked to an account of the recipient; and
deleting from the database the one or more electronic communications.
24 . The communication system of claim 23 , wherein the method further comprises:
deleting from the account of the recipient one or more links to the one or more electronic communications.
25 . The communication system of claim 23 , wherein the request to recall includes a date range that corresponds to when the user sent the one or more electronic communications indicated by the request to recall.
26 . The communication system of claim 25 , wherein the date range is all dates.
27 . The communication system of claim 25 , wherein the date range is before or after a specified date.
28 . The communication system of claim 25 , wherein deleting from the database includes deleting the one or more electronic communications sent from the user to the recipient during the date range.
29 . The communication system of claim 25 , wherein the method further comprises:
displaying to the user a list of the one or more electronic communications that the user sent to the recipient during the date range; and enabling the user to select for deletion one or more of the one or more electronic communications of the list.
30 . The communication system of claim 29 , wherein deleting from the database includes deleting the one or more electronic communications selected for deletion.
31 . The communication system of claim 23 , wherein the request to recall includes a name of the recipient
32 . The communication system of claim 31 , wherein the user selects the name of the recipient from a dropdown list of names.
33 . The communication system of claim 31 , wherein the user selects the name of the recipient from a contact list.
34 . The communication system of claim 31 , wherein the electronic communication is one or more of an e-mail message, a short message service (SMS) message, or a mobile chat message.
35 . A method for recalling an electronic communication previously sent to a recipient even if the recipient has already viewed the previously sent electronic communication, the method comprising:
receiving, at a server, from a user a request to recall one or more electronic communications that the user previously sent to a recipient, the one or more electronic communications being located on a database and linked to an account of the recipient; and deleting, by the server, from the database the one or more electronic communications.
36 . The method of claim 35 , further comprising:
deleting from the account of the recipient one or more links to the one or more electronic communications.
37 . The method of claim 35 , wherein the request to recall includes a date range that corresponds to when the user sent the one or more electronic communications indicated by the request to recall.
38 . The method of claim 37 , further comprising:
displaying to the user a list of the one or more electronic communications that the user sent to the recipient during the date range; and enabling the user to select for deletion one or more of the one or more electronic communications of the list.
39 . The method of claim 38 , wherein deleting from the database includes deleting the one or more electronic communications selected for deletion.
40 . The method of claim 35 , wherein the electronic communication is one or more of an e-mail message, a short message service (SMS) message, or a mobile chat message.Cited by (0)
