Fragile item packaging

Abstract

A blank includes a main body; at least one support connected to the main body; and at least one support brace connected to at least one of the main body and at least one support. A packaging system includes a blank, the blank including a main body, at least one support connected to the main body, and at least one support brace connected to at least one of the main body and at least one support; and shrinkwrapping. A support may be a panel. A box may be included.

That which is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A blank comprising:
 a main body;   at least one support connected to the main body; and   at least one support brace connected to at least one of the main body and a one of the at least one support.   
     
     
         2 . The blank of  claim 1 , wherein each support is a panel. 
     
     
         3 . The blank of  claim 1 , wherein the at least one support includes a first support and a second support. 
     
     
         4 . The blank of  claim 3 , wherein the first support and the second support are connected to opposite ends of the main body. 
     
     
         5 . The blank of  claim 3 , wherein the first support and the second support are connected to the same end of the main body. 
     
     
         6 . The blank of  claim 3 , where a one of the at least one support brace is between the first support and the second support. 
     
     
         7 . The blank of  claim 1 , wherein the each support is connected to the main body by a bend line. 
     
     
         8 . The blank of  claim 1 , wherein the each brace is connected to at least one of the main body and a one of the at least one support by a bend line. 
     
     
         9 . The blank of  claim 1 , wherein the at least one support brace includes a plurality of adjustability contours bend lines. 
     
     
         10 . The blank of  claim 1 , wherein at least one support includes an end that is angled at a non-square angle with respect to another end of the at least one support. 
     
     
         11 . A packaging system comprising:
 a blank, the blank including
 a main body; 
 at least one support connected to the main body; and 
 at least one support brace connected to at least one of the main body and at least one support; and 
   shrinkwrapping.   
     
     
         12 . The packaging system of  claim 11 , further comprising a box. 
     
     
         13 . The packaging system of  claim 12 , wherein the at least one support brace includes a first support and a second support, the first support contacting a front side of the box and the second support contacting a back side of the box. 
     
     
         14 . The packaging system of  claim 11 , wherein each support is a panel. 
     
     
         15 . The packaging system of  claim 11 , wherein each support is oriented orthogonal to the main body. 
     
     
         16 . A method of packaging comprising:
 placing an item on a blank, the blank including a main body, a support, and a support brace;   folding the support brace around the blank;   folding the support at an angle with respect to the main body; and   placing the blank and the item in a box.   
     
     
         17 . The method of packaging of  claim 16 , further comprising placing shrinkwrap around the item and the blank. 
     
     
         18 . The method of packaging of  claim 16 , wherein the item is auto glass. 
     
     
         19 . The method of packaging of  claim 16 , wherein the support includes an end that is angled at a non-square angle with respect to another end of the support. 
     
     
         20 . The method of packaging of  claim 16 , wherein the blank includes a second support, the method further comprising:
 folding the second support at an angle with respect to the main body, the angle of the second support opposite to the angle of the first support;   wherein placing the blank and the item in the box includes placing the first support in contact with a front side of the box and placing the second support in contact with the back side of the box.
